There are ways to work around that (eg drip feeding your wallet) but they are clunky and impractical so would be a real downer to live with for even a short time - it would turn most devs away.

Do you mean then how the business is run or perhaps the project and if so specifically what’s missing apart from enough general comms.

That limit is very trivial our uploaders don’t set a limit but clients will. The bug is not that though it’s the algo and we are looking into it. I am sure we will make improvements for a long time there.

From what I see we’re rushing to launch and do this like I did my homework… Finished on last possible time and completely untested… Acceptable for unimportant stuff… But here is literally millions at risk…
A testing period af somewhat stability is missing imho
There’s simply no time for it left in the timeline from what I see… We have seen bugs that appear after weeks of running…(jackpots)…

Let’s wait until we all see what exactly launch is. Many will be surprised but honestly we have not entered a kamikaze school of coding here

I beg to differ. We see the technical progress and we can see the technical problems both ones which have been around for a long time, and new ones cropping up with meagre and patchy testing.
It isn’t credible to me to say it will be fine in 8 weeks because launch doesn’t really need a working network. If that’s the plan I think I’ve slipped into a different project!

In other news it’s sunny here for the first day in weeks of rain 
Don’t panic folks but we do need some pressure here and we do need focus. The testing has shown a ton of stuff and led us to get much better metrics in place. So we know much more now and that’s also getting much better again this week.
The more we know the stronger it will be. But rest assured we will get even more focussed in these next few weeks.
I feel any time money is involved there’s a big cloud of confusion and fear and it’s fine. All we can do is the best we can with the resources we have and we will do that I am sure.

Just to clarify, money has been way in the background for me for a loooong time. Yep, it would be nice, but I am fine without it. I’m not reliant or particularly needing any payoff.
I’m sure that’s not the case for everyone, so I get that, but I don’t want anyone here thinking that any of my concerns are me getting emotional about money.
My concerns are grounded and about wanting the project to deliver the fundamentals.

This is what we have been told repeatedly. It will be fine, stop worrying etc. I refer you to my posts above.
But nobody tells us what the plan is and why we should trust it…
Would be okay if there wasn’t a launch date pretty much in sight…but I guess I indeed have faith when it’s you saying it @dirvine

What do you want to know Mark. I am really trying to figure it out but I am lost. I hear you are upset and I am trying to help with the tech part. But it’s something else and I cannot guess you need to tell me.
I hear a few folk saying something is wrong and they feel ignored and here I am not ignoring folk but apparently it’s not enough. So please tell me folks what I can do.
I would not affect what Bux is doing as I said. I am fully behind her and Andrew as they are working like mad.

They aren’t going to give us a blood oath and I don’t expect them to.
I get that actions speak louder than words but there are a lot of things to manage internally so it’s not as easy as drop everything to address an individual’s concerns. They have to think about everyone, current resources and the long term.
Not trying to make excuses or enable the promise making but we have said our peice so let’s give them a reasonable amount of time to respond.
Personally excited for the quick action that has been taken on committing to the API and I really think the separate dev forum is a muddy cause.
Mark, your personal commitment is a grand gesture and could do wonders but relying on one person and dedicating focus to something the Maidsafe devs likely won’t engage on seems like a massive gamble.
What is the domain anyways? Is it safe network named or related? Don’t we want to move towards the Autonomi name?

First, enjoy them sun rays! 
Beyond that I’m loving the idea of focusing on the API, examples and docs.
To me, that is what will make the biggest positive impact to everyone.
I think the community needs to settle on a dev alliance that is a compromise between what will help us move forward and maximize Maidsafe dev activity / response.

There’s a point where I give up trying to explain and this is it.
I now understand you are here to answer specific technical stuff and advocate for dev related areas like API, health permitting of course. All good.
And that you are here to try and quell unrest and pacify the community, but that can’t happen by you just saying you’re here to listen and not get involved in the bigger issues being raised.
I’ve explained, I’m not getting through but I also realise that it won’t matter if I do. That’s useful clarity so I’ll accept that and back away from this what is a pointless roundabout of a discussion.
I do wish you good health David and am sorry to have wasted our time here.

Its no big deal not a grand gesture. The dev forum is dead, just a handful of us and I was doing exactly this for a long time. What has happened is that Autonomi are freezing the forum and I can’t seem to get them to change that. So I’ll leave it there and I won’t participate in a sub-topic because I think it will be a mess - and can’t be done in a way that won’t turn developers away. Joshuef and the team seemed to be in agreement with that, but it doesn’t appear to have made a difference, even with my offer.
This is true. Letting the domain go is a separate issue. Maybe a minor one, or maybe a big footgun. If you want to let it go this is not a good way to do it. I’ve explained this in detail elsewhere but apparently not clearly enough, but I’m giving up on that too now.
This is not just me being emotional. The impact of the long period of problems and the recent interactions is that my enthusiasm has gone. I have a massive collection of ideas and todo’s for awe and beyond, and suddenly no interest in them. That may change, but probably only if my confidence in Autonomi becomes restored.
Everyone says it’ll be fine, so I shall wait and see if it is fine, and in the mean time think about what I do feel like doing.

Don’t be I am keen to know what’s happening and what folk are angry and quite bitter. I know these folk and it’s out of character.
I can be involved in anything I want, but I cannot make anyone come here and post. I do try and some do, but not all.
Whatever this big issue is I am sure we can handle it. If it’s launch I hope I have stated my case, if it’s comms, likewise. If it’s the rewards thing I admit to being far from it and bandwidth limited to get involved. But if it’s something else I am unaware of it

Not sure that is accurate and perhaps why thoughts are not being freely shared.
Just some of the replies above by some folk show clearly that meaning and intent is misperceived.
