Wave 2 Starts!

We are opening Wave 2 to earn rewards via the leaderboard rank. :fire: :fire: :fire:

  1. First Week: Everything earned to date will count.

  2. Subsequent Weeks: Starting from next week, rankings will be based on what you earn in 7 days, similar to the other wave.

  3. Reward Pool:
Wave 2 reward pool will double when Wave 3 starts.
Wave 1 reward pool has now doubled with the start of Wave 2.

  4. Referrals:
Wave 1: One referral per week.
Wave 2: Two referrals per week.

  5. Node Nanos:
Once network-side issues are resolved, you will need to earn node nanos to be eligible to claim any nano boost.

  6. Nano Boost Pool:
Set at 70:30 (node:boost) based on feedback from node operators.

  7. Beta Reward Program Updates:
Additional updates ahead of Wave 3 will be made and shared on the website next week.
Note: Wave 3 will require 1,000 participants to start.

I’m not particularly worried about this, which is why I havern’t kept a close watch, but I’m sure I’ve earned more like 100 than 30 nanos this week.

I definitely earned 20 in the 24 hours before the cut off, maybe 30.

So these figures look way off.

OK so no stupid questions… Just stupid people… What is a nano exactly in relation to the network?

I’ll fire em nodes back up… Woo!

@MaxSan By running your nodes and referring people you earn nanos. Nanos give you a rank on the leaderboard. In turn, at TGE you will be awarded tokens based on your rankings.

Doesn’t quite make sense to me.

70:30 of what exactly? There are a few possibilities.

A nano is a billionth (10^-9) of a safe network token. It’s the smallest unit of currency. Analogous to a satoshi in bitcoin.

In order not to confuse newcomers, I will note that nano is part of the Autonomi network token, the Safe Network is the old name of the network and is still in the hearts and minds of even the MaidSafe devs

Safe was so abused by other shit tier projects it ruined the name tbh. I dont care what name we use at the end of the day as long as the project works.

I assume it’s 70% of the prize pool is decided by node earnings, and 30% by boosts.

Would be good to hear clarification to be sure though.

It seems good that boosts aren’t going to be primary, though I guess if only 1/3 of participants utilise boosts, they will be very important in determining earnings.

Indeed, it is a catch 22. Without adequate boost incentive less waves may occur.

More waves, more doubling. Careful consideration is required when arguing one way or the other with boosts.

No rewards for non-discord users?

No - not unless you are offering to supply a secure tested tracking system for earnings that relies on something other than a Discord ID.

The present system is not perfect, but its a hell of a lot more perfect than any of the alternatives.

Unless you know better and can prove it?

You have a total of TWO whole posts - Both could be fairly described as “bother-causing”.

You are for the watching, pal, no matter what your first language is…

You will get nanos which you can sell on black market

Was curious, if I find that solution, we can set it up so that more people can participate?

There is some misunderstanding here. Can you explain exactly what problem you see?

If you do, then present it to @Bux or @JimCollinson by all means.
I suspect they may not want to change horses in midstream though.

The Discord solution we have at present, flawed though it is, took (and takes) a lot of work to set up and run but basically kinda works, so don’t be surprised if they are not immediately enthusiastic.

Also the big deal is - it works with Discord. @Bux bringing in a lot of people via Discord (cos she had/has a big following on there) was one aspect of why she got hired as CEO.

I think the problem with discord is Privacy. Security. Freedom as explained here Samourai Devs Arrested is a Wake Up Call for Crypto

I dont see it as too much of an issue personally as its a temporary fix during beta just to track rewards via resets… with the system being scrapped on release… I presume.

The focus on Discord will soon fade after launch because

  • No longer any need for bots to track the beta rewards
  • Native Autonomi apps will quickly evolve to replace Discord for chat and the sharing of gifs
  • Chat focus will be back on the forum for a while, where it always belonged, rather than on no-privacy Discord
  • The forum itself will likely be replaced in due course by various Autonomi apps

I think that’s very unlikely because marketing will continue for years after launch, and if anything more dodgy channels may come into use. The way it is used will change over time, but I don’t think it will suddenly disappear.

Even if that were to happen, all the data collected by Discord will be retained from social graphs to DMs etc. collected, stored and abused, and/or leaked etc.

The good outcome will hopefully be a successful launch and growing set of alternatives on Autonomi, but all OG and early adopter’s data will be retained and remain at risk even for individuals who stop using it.

We can request deletion of data and in the UK and EU that should happen, but how many will do that is also questionable.

unsure what you mean by more dodgy… we want more dodgy and less tracking. obviously.
