I tried a few but:

Downloading "architecturacivi00cara_orig_0804.tif" from f38c319a97f32bcfaea56cfb822eac43288a57694b018e3aa0e44bf13f25bfb4 with batch-size 16
Error downloading "architecturacivi00cara_orig_0804.tif": Network Error GetRecord Query Error RecordNotFound.

Downloading "Alex Lustig - Otherside.mp3" from 6c07d7adb7279cb0c1685b2594000af6d87b3f615265d1da8a782ebc8091beb7 with batch-size 16
Error downloading "Alex Lustig - Otherside.mp3": Network Error GetRecord Query Error RecordNotFound.

Also, getting this error on another file on a Windows machine;

it starts downloading chunks but returns this error (this happens NOT consistently, i.e. after a non consistent number of chunks)

I also re-tried with different batch sizes up to 50 and it downloads fine :person_shrugging: :thinking:

Very interested in what it was doing that required sending it to the gallows. :scream:

I am 7 down now. RAM is taking a beating.
Some approaching 4GB.

should have said a few words before the termination lol

iv just switched my vps fair usage policy to 100mbs speed unlimited data as i can see me being out of data if i stayed on 1000mbs with a 4TB limit

That is still respectable speed, especially with 30 nodes hitting memory limits.

I dont remember how much RAM your machines have. Mine are 8GB so with the current usage I may be in trouble running 30 per machine.

got 6Gb ram in them things are not looking to bad some machines are about 50%

I suspect
QUIC is very fast → more data faster, lots in RAM
QICK is a. user space app in reality, so can be several thousand connections all on one socket and multiplexing.

We MAY need to limit number of connections there, not sure, but we can play with it. Perhaps ram/cpu will be as important as disc space here. That’s no bad thing in reality as long as we can still target the smallest of comptuers

looks like most nodes are behaving as well as before but the naughty nodes dont seem to have any other stats making them stand out from the well behaved ones ?

I have a couple of nodes that are at 2k records already. So I guess the network is getting hammered too.

It is not clear though as distribution of records seem a little less even than in the past.

We need the faucet to go… I think.

I think you are right, we need to somehow limit the tokens and give them at least pseudo value. Perhaps airdrop them to forum members who ask?

Still free though with a airdrop. Could we just earn them instead. But then we have chicken and egg and some who can’t run nodes.

Maidsafe can upload data once we have nodes up to kickstart rewards.

If the only way to get them is earning them, they have value.
Then those who earn just need to barter or be nice to those who cant run nodes.

Idk not perfect but better than free.

What about earnings/GB? So a metric to understand how much value you receive (currency) for how much value you are providing (storage space)?
