Seems like someone really wanted to get MAID past the ever-discussed 20 cent mark. What happens now is up in the air. Hopefully some good buy support so it doesn’t dip down past a certain lower point any longer.

I think the market is just so thin that a few determined buyers cause a squeeze and the price squirts one way or the other. Given record, pre ICO lows (only in BTC ofc) and an abundance of recent good news, it really shouldn’t be a surprise that the price has surged. If bittrex have also loaded up to re-list too, it only adds to this.

It all feels a little bonkers, but I suppose we may have to start getting used to this. The good news seems to be coming through in waves atm!

Hope we also get listed on Bittrex partner exchanges, Upbit.

I think MAID was in there before too, so maybe easy enough to add if there is demand?

So where do you guys think the price will settle out here? I think we might be about there right now. All depends how many new traders we pickup on trex. I know alot like me trade there but that’s sorta irrelevant cause I was already trading MAID on polo. At least for now we are front page news and hopefully alot of those trex only people are like hey whats this coin?

I don’t think making unsubstantiated accusations about insider trading is fair or warranted.
I disagree entirely.

This is very bad to do since it will show up in search results and cast a bad light on otherwise good people and a good company. Maidsafe does not engage in this and if you read back through this topic it has been stated in no uncertain terms by Maidsafe that NONE of the staff engage in any of this practice. Its unethical to do and unethical to accuse without any evidence and evidence contrary to the assertion.

Please refrain from such theories as it turns good people in quasi-criminals. Not quite criminal since insider trading for crypto is yet to be tested in court but can still bring down criminal charges on Maidsafe themselves.

So stop now before you cause real problems from your unfounded accusations. And no this is not an overreaction. Only accuse when you have some evidence or do it in an unrelated forum where it does not hold any weight.

NO IT IS NOT. Maidsafe is responsible for any staff doing insider trading and criminal charges can be brought if the authorities who investigate companies for improper activities gets the idea that such unethical activities are occurring.

You made a very serious accusation. Please learn that by saying this in the official forum for the project Maidsafe is working on carries a lot more weight than saying that Maidsafe staff are engaged in such practices in another coin’s forum.

ok so if I have a crypto attached to a project I am working on how do I be involved in the market for that crypto and not be insider trading

By not using insider information. IE just buy appropriate amounts at times when the person can defend the decision as not using insider information.

so should I not try to get into the devs discord group and chat them up for some secret info? If I don’t my competitors will.

If Maidsafe gave insider information to anyone that can indicate a change of financial situation then they are guilty. But if they announce it publicly in this forum for instance then it cannot be considered insider information.

@andyypants clearly means well and think that’s known but I agree that it’s not something that should be thrown about. I personally wouldn’t even think it for a second but we are not thought police here. Think what you think and for the most part say what you like but that one is not so welcome in a proud and virtuous community.

Beyond that, let’s be happy for anyone holding MAID and for the price increase! A lot of good news has been uttered within the forum and formally posted through all the proper channels recently and the price is reflecting that

Just to confirm this is true guys. Just been informed by Bittrex myself. We worked on the listing quite a few months ago and were never assured that we would be listed. Really good to see this one come through!!

It’s a double win. Exposure, on ramps, and liquidity are obvious. But it is also a legitimacy thing, where we can be increasingly sure that lawyers see it as kosher. Standing ovation for SAFE on this one.

Looked at Upbit-exchange yesterday and it seems like they in some way as a partner, mirror Bittrex listings, looked also at this topic for clues about all of their partners but does anyone know which partners Bittrex have besides Upbit?

Bittrex launch new international exchange, MAID re-list?

@dugcampbell, @SarahPentland, @nicklambert Bittrex will release a new international exchange which will open up for new coins to be listed. As the exchange will be placed in Europe/Malta it maybe a good thing to try and get MAID re-listed?, as the harsh securities laws of the US won’t affect this exchange. Hopefully Bittrex Malta will also provide fiat deposite/withdraw as Bittrex currently do for their US customers “Bittrex Malta is designed to give innovative coins and tokens a streamlin…

Upbit with their top class high volume and aim towards the asian market would give us further good exposure to different regions of the the world.

Well I have been ready to let this die but people keep bringing it back up so I have to respond…

I disagree a theory why the market moved is an accusation. Naturally those kind of theories are often highly speculative. If some routes of speculation are forbidden there is no point in brainstorming in this room.

As for the evidence. There were big market buys on wed. If someone just wanted that much they could have sat back and waited for the price to come to them more… that is unless they know the next day trex is listing. Now I am thinking it could POSSIBLY be someone inside trex was trading on news before it became public. Or maybe this was all a coincidence … but when you are trading innocent until proven guilty is too slow and you just gotta speculate a bit on whats happening based only or circumstantial evidence quite often.

Please learn that this sort of theory is both an accusation and seen as such by those who read it. You are a regular poster and this is crypto and this is the official forum for the project. Words and place of saying them do matter.

You may disagree and may not have had that intent but that does not make you right that it is not an accusation.

I think I was pretty clear that this was just an opinion and not fact of the matter stuff I was saying.

@JPL right next time I won’t share my opinion since more people here prefer to just see things through rosey glasses then consider darker possibilities. I think its an advantage but fine I will just use it myself.

@andyypants FWIW I didn’t see it as an accusation personally, but you may be misunderstanding slightly what motivates folk at MaidSafe.

I’m not talking for everyone of course, but these kinds of conversations about trading and making money from the project are just not really something you hear being discussed often, if at all. Yeah sure we keep an eye on the price—it’s interesting and fascinating in a way (and its the fuel for the thing, so it’s Nick job to do that ofc)—but it’s just not the motivation for putting in the hours.

Sure, money could be a byproduct, and if it happens, well, wouldn’t that be nice? But I think if you ask any one of the MaidSafers, they’d happily trade it for realising the core goal of the project: the freedom for everyone to have access to all of human knowledge, without prejudice or persecution.

Why do you feel the need to articulate every thought that enters your brain to this audience, no matter how baseless in truth or reality they are? Are you capable of thinking without spamming us with every thought or idea? Please just listen and learn and stop trying to defend your inappropriate actions and writings.
