What’s up today? (Part 1)

Exactly - I would argue that lack of consistency in decision-making - particularly in the politico-legal arena - is the single biggest problem humans face in avoiding The World’s Last Mass Extinction.

And its been downhill since then. I shake my head at them all. “Poor people don’t drive so increasing petrol taxes won’t affect them” or “old people are the reason why the health system isn’t sustainable, so they should stop going to the doctors” (that leaser was booted by his own party over that one days before he would get the golden pension). And so many other quotes that only belong to the pits of hell

No respect for the man. He came from a poor background but came up with the infamous statement when increasing petrol taxes that it won’t affect the poor because they don’t drive. There is a c word to describe that bastard.

At that time 20-30% of Australians were officially under the poverty line, also known as the working poor and pensioners. Pensioners have had their pension’s real value reduce to be under the poverty line, people who paid taxes went into their pensions. Many of us worked before super was universal and the pension was the super for those/us. Only those born after '64 are considered to be covered by super and no pensions for them.

Fascinating and revealing thread summarising an article about how Google search presents misleading information that can’t be corrected and is being abused to spread misinformation that undermines democracy.

Lots of interesting responses for the software and command line curious.

The first, screen is one of my favourites and is what I use to access multiple terminals on my Safe Network cloud node via a terminal emulator on my Android tablet or PC. It’s awesome.

The author may well be a suitable person to approach to carry out the security aspects of the external audit that was mooted by someone (sorry I forgot who) which was a concept favourably received by @dirvine.
