Update 29 August, 2024

Metoo…12charachters

Yes but Wave 1 has fewer people than Wave 2, so the rewards pool is larger per person.

Edit: Also I think the math is wrong. Wave 1 does get a double when Wave 2 joins and an extra 25% for Wave 3. Wave 2 doesn’t get the first double and only gets a 50% increase for Wave 3.

Wave 1: 250K * 2 * 1.25 = 625K
Wave 2: 250K * 1.5 = 375K

since I cant figure out what is up or down with all this reward BS

what will 100 tokens from wave one be worth after all the black magic happens ?

1 token = 1 token, I think thats the saying.
And stack nanos, and never sell your ANT.

I’m pretty sure my math is correct - but am out of this slightly heated discussion… Maidsafe can do whatever they want - and I’m okay with what they think is right in this matter  just had the feeling there was a glitch in the reasoning behind that 25/50% decision @JimCollinson @Bux … Didn’t expect such a reaction =D

I think everyone knows you are sincere in your post. I must admit that I had no idea wave 2 started at 500k. I thought each wave started at 250k and doubled from there.

That makes no sense to me but also don’t really care.

just want to point out that being #20th for wave1 (out of 175?) is not the same as being #20th for wave2 (out of 825). For someone to be top20 in wave2 it must be running a lot of nodes and/or bringing new people in compared to all the other 824 partitipants.

 while wave 1 people are nuts and if you look at the earned nanos (before jackpots were a thing)… e.g. 9th August I was 6th in wave 1 (reward ~400) and would have been 1st (ignoring the referrals bonus of @mccnex) in wave 2 (reward ~1k)

It’s way harder to be in the top ranks of wave 1 than it is in wave 2
(and yes - even when considering the referral bonus of @mccnex I would then have been place two and gotten a reward of 900 which would have been more than my reward on wave 1 even after considering the x2 multiplier…my rewards for beta would be higher if I was in wave 2 and not in wave 1 running the same node count… And since wave 2 just runs for 10 weeks and wave 1 for 12 weeks my cost would be lower in wave 2 too… )

… The whole thing needs some explanation I think xD

got to look after the OG’s just which OG’s is the question

AIUI 100 reward tokens as shown on the weekly board will be worth 100 * 2 * 1.25 so 250.

At coingecko prices thats £36ish

This is wrong
Its

  • Wave 1: 250K * 2 * 1.25
  • Wave 2: 250K * 1.25

Wave 2 never got a double since the doubling for wave 2 was only coming after wave 3 filled. But now since wave 3 is 1/2 the size they get 50% rather than 100% increase

Yes you are correct and beat me to explaining

Then why can wave 2 get close to 2x higher rewards than wave 1 if they did not start with 500k. Look at the leaderboard for wave 2 and compare with wave 1. They can’t have started with 250.

It should be impossible for them to get more then wave 1 if wave 1 pool is 500k with 200 node runners and if wave 2 was 250k with almost 800. Also I know wave 1 doubling of rewards don’t show and gets added post Beta is done.

20th position wave 1 get 222
20th position wave 2 get 373

The leaderboard lists are just the 250K values.

The team has said a few times in the past that the doubling is only applied after the program is finished and the rewards given out at/after launch

Remember wave 1 is 250K/12 per week
and wave 2 is 250K/10 per week

20th place wave 1 = 222
20th place wave 2 = 373

How is that possible?

12/10 = 1.2
1.2 x 222 = 266

Also there are 4 times more people in wave 2, so that should give them a lot lower rewards if they started at 250k.

Well add it all up, the distribution proportions is obviously different as well.

All I know is that wave one is over 12 weeks and wave 2 is over 10 weeks and the total rewards for the full time is 250K for each and any multipliers applied afterwards

If you have a problem with what @JimCollinson has said then take it up with him.

The leaderboard must be very wrong if what you claim is correct. The numbers don’t make sense.

It would be good if you can show how wave 2 can make so much more of they started on 250k with 4 times more participants.

You didn’t add it up LOL - look at the actual number of people in wave 2 who got ANY rewards

Do the research first before complaining

Then complain to @JimCollinson

What you mean, “lol” tells me nothing

do some work then - you are the one complaining its wrong, yet do not have the figures to back it up

Why should I do all work, it is your claims that don’t make sense, come on.
