The reason i find it important to separate the brands is that once the network goes live the plan was to have the development of the network decentralised by way of incentives through the 5% safecoin inflation rate. If the perception upon launch is that Maidsafe is the network (or that the name is synonymous with the safe network) it will give an unfair advantage to any governance process, and the ability to contribute to the network will not be evenly weighted.
I’m hoping that there are plans for full automation of network upgrades before launch, and that there is a plan to counteract the authority perception of Maidsafe over the network so everyone can be on a level playing field once the network is launched.
Who knows? The last wall guy seems to have just used it to drive the price down. Weak hands haven’t tended to be a MAID issue, so probably loans being squeezed still, IMO.
Nice momentum (vs BTC) today I am really curious what will happen if we cross 1600. Will that 100 BTC whale say nope sorry denied and dump us back to his 1400 wall or is this all part of his plan to let the trend flip and trickle sell all the cheap MAID into that?
I really hope there’s a major announcement/update in 2 days, which then leads the whole of the public paying attention in anticipation for some downloads + involvement in some kind of testing—within the same day or within the entirety of the week following the announcement/update. I don’t know what the pre-dev update thread is talking about regarding its recent posts; and the tech/merge stuff is too complicated for me to bother looking at. So I rely on the Thursday updates for the full detail.
I feel like there’s a lot going on, as always — except, this time, the ‘end of defragmentation’ of the entire network (or this bite-sized version of the network) so to speak, is carrying with it all the extremely major chunks of development… to where any week now could result in a completion of Fleming. I wouldn’t think the devs would be adding to Fleming, like they have been doing very recently—which then makes it even longer before said important release—if, they weren’t confident that this quickening warranted it (“it” i.e. further delay/enhancement: despite this being highly frowned on in the most-recent of last 5-ish years of intense/seemingly forever development).
And there’s my bi-monthly (or more frequent) bit of optimism. Except this time I really think that ‘end of defragmentation’ symbolism holds true. It could take longer than the singular week I’m optimistic about, considering my 2nd paragraph’s topic of adding to Fleming. But not very much longer. There are always problems and revisions, but hopefully those are ironed out as quickly as the very fervor that has been decided upon for moving towards the final stretch of the Network.
that’s why when I introduce a new person to crypto I say don’t throw all your chips on the table hoping 1 number is right. Buy a little each day/week and fill your bag over time. If it moons before they have totally gone all in, they won’t complain but rather be happy for the gains on what they had. If it slips a little bit right after going all in then its like wtf why you give me this shoddy advice
Classic case of the crypto gods messing with you. Just for spite, the price will go down to $0.10 USD, then your friends will be disgusted and not want to buy or perhaps they will sell. Then the price will go to $2 and they will Fomo back in only to see it drop back down to $0.25 soon after… I call this “crypto dharma”.
