One of the biggest challenges I see for MAID price discovery is knowing/guessing what the cost will be to farm SAFE in beta and later.

I totally agree. That’s why I think it could totally fly in either direction as soon as there is test safecoin and they start tuning those dials. I could see huge volatility (and lots of opportunity to profit trading) as people react to the latest update on those settings. Thing about SAFEcoin is it will recycle. if it recycles really fast then MAID is worth less but if its slow then having some of those coins in advance is more valuable.

We need a DEX and not just for something as shortsighted as the current price of MAID. It is critical to adoption and the continuation of the greatest monetary / technological revolution in world history. Exchanges are honeypots and chokepoints preventing everyone from actually experiencing real freedom. It doesn’t mater how well capitalized / intentioned / ethical any of these people happen to be. Bitcoin is never going to take over the world because it has failed to take eliminate the one thing it was designed to take out. SAFE is going to wipe all of these creeps out instantly.

My analysis of Maidsafe:
- Technical analysis: VERY BAD
- Fundamental analysis: For forum members (2%) VERY GOOD (because we have informations), for the rest of the crypto community (98%) VERY BAD
Unless something big happens, we will continue to dump more.

Yes, I am living in UAE and a lot of websites are blocked here. We was able to access the websites using VPNs, but now they start to block VPN also.
EDIT: And when some VPNs are available, inevitably people are talking about it and they become famous. Then they become very easy to target and blacklist. Also they might use deep package inspection to slow down suspicious connexions.

This is very true. Every so often I hear a brief mention of MaidSafe on various crypto podcasts and they all seem to speak of it like a dead project from 2014. Obviously most are not keeping up with the latest developments and have left it for dead.

Its mad that people still refer to the project as “maidsafe”, instead of talking about the safe network! Maybe that’s something else we could set the record straight about at the same time?!

They probably talk about the token - it is still MaidSafeCoin and not SafeNetworkCoin…

I agree it helps blur the lines, but maidsafe do absorb a lot of the brand identity that should be drove towards the safe network, too.

Not sure about the product name “SAFE Network”. Was it chosen based on market research on multiple continents?
I feel that a major marketing campaign should coincide with a truly ready and usable product. Not too early, or the brand will become “old” and people get tired by the time we really launch the real thing.
Marketing components such as the release of Parsec is great. This is and argument for at least some serial development. Do a small thing well and on schedule.

MAID still stands for something: Massive Array of Internet Disks (and all the variation names I can never remember), and SAFE is kind of a take it or leave it thing (Secure Access For Everyone). I don’t think it has to be 100% identified with the company’s name. Maidsafe “The Company”. …Can the phrase in quotes be reduced to something like “LLC,” or whatever appropriate tag would be necessitated?
Then people can just say MAIDSAFE in all caps or something, lol, when meaning the idea. The MAIDSafe/MAIDSAFE/MadeSafe/Made-Safe/Made Safe/MAID Network. Anyway, whatever sticks.

I think from a marketing perspective we are dancing on a pinhead - Maidsafe, Maid, SafeNetwork, SafeMaid, all are ok as long as the message gets out. Let’s not be precious, and pretend we are expert marketeers, about a brand that does not exist yet to the mainstream.

well that’s what happens when you live under a monarchy… it might be more wealthy then most dictatorships but I would still never want to live in such a place just cause things like that come up. When are you guys gonna overthrow your crazy king and become a democracy like most first world countries?

well its not a bad thing there is that much BTC watching the MAID market at all. I mean not long ago it was like erm entire market depth is like 15 BTC give or take. If you ask me they played us like a fiddle not showing their hand until it was dumped into the abyss.
