In all fairness, the US is a huge market. It’s like a 1/6th of the world’s total GDP with some of the highest numbers of disposable income per capita in the world.

To be fair it’s more likely awareness

The masses with their $50 won’t move it. Tech Savvy folk who know of the project but have moved on and have significant reserves can move this paper thin market violently. The only way to reach them is to deliver. Maidsafe are doing this.

Reach just a handful of these folks with proof the idea is viable and your probably being conservative.

No, crypto in the US is reserved for whales. They seem to have no problems buying as much as they want. Its the lesser types that find it tough. That’s capitalism for you

https://simpleswap.io/coins/maidsafe-coin USA can still use this, right?
Still, would help to have at least one other outlet besides HitBTC and Bittrex Global. I think? I mean, that’s 2 right there, for places, that places like simpleswap can utilize.

I used it this morning without issue. The only thing that hurts is it adds a cent or so over spot.

Yes, SimpleSwap does work for US customers, but it is not well known and as mentioned, their take off the top is not ideal. Coinbase is the major player in US crypto. Getting on there, we’d probably see an instant 10-20% bump from the announcement/listing.

Another thing of note is SimpleSwap is not ideal at all when it comes to tax season in the US because we have to individually document every trade and manually calculate a FIFO for asset trading. Places like Coinbase make that much easier because we get access to automated systems that will do that sort of stuff.

As a US citizen and as a New York resident, I have to literally play hopscotch to buy crypto. It’s become easier as time has gone on but by the time I’m done just purchasing bitcoin or ether, I’m generally exhausted and now don’t do as many Alts. Using kucoin and similar exchanges are helpful because the transfers and KYC laws are easy overall but I haven’t purchased MAID, I believe, since PARSEC was released in May of ‘18 if I’m not mistaken. Yes there has been Changelly and simple swap and other stuff but the fees are crazy, I can’t buy anymore then a couple 1000 dollars worth of anything and if they take more then a few grand, I drain the liquidity pool. Missing the US market is not a “push to the side” sort of thing because no matter how well it may be going, many US residents have insane amounts of buying power.

Troofacto - cant argue with that – even though I want to

For a country supposedly democratic and believing in freedom of choice, the regulations around cryptocurrencies are very socialistic. What happened to Buyer Beware,

Power, control, accredited investor laws, state laws ect. We have a lot of good in the US but we like to get in our own way if any of the above are threatened.

At all costs protect the poor from becoming rich. Seems like the US modo.

That’s very well put. I don’t think it’s really that hard to become well off in the US if you have a little to start with but it’s no longer like the 1950’s when it was easier to work your way from the bottom to a good life.

If I saw a significantly undervalued asset and could ‘only’ buy $1k at a time, I’d just do what I needed to do to get it anyway. Folk who have taken the time to figure out the potential here would probably do the same. Seriously, liquidity issues aside you could have accumulated a tonne of MAID over the past 12 months if you were in the US, patient and motivated.

If demand existed folk would have and currently be clamouring over each other to get at least their little toe in the door. No one is really doing that. Demand across the board needs to exist, it doesn’t for a number of reasons including the ones you’ve mentioned.

Deliver first, move a stagnant market then you suddenly have resources to partially open these doors to the US again. The ‘pushing to the side’ isn’t great but it’s the route until the wheels get traction. I know it sucks but not a issue that can’t fixed with patience and delivery. The former probably most relevant to this topic.

I had plenty of MAID to feel secure before bittrex and polo delisted for US, otherwise I probably would have made more of an effort. Perhaps I feel some level of remorse in the future but it wasn’t like I didn’t have an adequate amount.

I’ll make sure I seek your advice in the future.

Maidsafe is 130 in the rankings. There is so much crap above it.
