Can you elaborate on this, please?

Quite the bloodbath on Bittrex. If anyone missed the window to sell before the close, I’m willing to buy OTC any MAID on omni if someone wants to liquidate. Of course through escrow.

Hi all,

It’s obviously a shame that our friends at Bittrex are shutting up shop, and we’d rather do without the sidetrack, but it’s definitely more of a hiccup that we need to work through than a major roadblock.

If anything it allows us more latitude to focus on ERC20 when it comes to the conversion process, integration for SNT, and how the upcoming beta program will work.

If this had come a year ago it would be a different story, but now it’s not such a big issue and we can keep pushing forwards!!

Wasn’t expecting anything else, sadly. Just before the expensive December month people get to hear their only way to sell is closing down within 2 weeks. Additionally, Bittrex advicing against depositing is resulting in a near 0 order book.

On top of that, we’re a privacy project, there are a ton of people that don’t want to go through the KYC process to get their MAID to EMAID. For some this is the last time they can sell until network go live, which doesn’t have an eta yet. You need real diamond hands to not sell a piece if you’re in that situarion.

HitBTC is still trading, for those who can access that exchange.

The Beta is rolling round pretty soon, so fear not! It’s a great time to be holding either in my opinion.

But we do appreciate people still want to be able to access the market for MaidSafeCoin. We are working on the options; and things are a good bit more flexible than they were a year ago.

HitBTC draws it liquidity directly from Bittrex. There is no liquidity on there and it’s known to be a scam. I’d advice eveyone to stay far, far away from it.

I have used HitBtc in the past and had no problems, not advocating for it just letting my personal experience be known.

Liquidity in eMAID is low simply because there aren’t many sellers.

If more people do the conversion Maid to eMAID and those who want to sell become liquidity providers, there will be more liquidity.

I guess eMaid will only grow from here

Ditto… haven’t used it for a while but good experience previously.

What does this actually mean? Is it not like “putting in a sell order” = “providing liquidity”? I guess this is explained in some of the guides @Dimitar has so well put up here.

I probably need to sell in about 2-4 weeks, and I need to start looking for the best option. So far the options seem to be:

  1. Sell MAID in HitBTC
  2. Sell MAID to a forum member. (I have already gotten a couple DM’s from people willing to buy + @yunny’s public offer.)
  3. Convert to eMAID and sell in Uniswap

Interesting to see how the price develops from here. I recently sold a lump to a forum member and we used Bittrex price as a checkpoint. Now the price has crashed. If there’s going to be some yell-worthy news from the development front, I think the eMAID market might soon become the “main price”, as I think USA is the place where the most interest would be. So Bittrex’s demise might be a good thing in that way.

I think that I’d rather borrow money from some blood thirsty companies offering loans to desperate people, than sell at these prices.

Is there any legal reasons to not have a public auctions for MAID here in this forum?

What’s your base for this claim?

This is great to hear. Looking forward to the future announcements, whether its weeks or months away, I am happy to wait it out. Being a US resident, waiting out a few more months is not an issue for what is already an illiquid asset at the moment.

I hope the final SNT token wherever its listed at a future date becomes available for trading for US residents (legally allowed).

Between all the de-listings, bankruptcies, and exchanges dropping the support for the coin for US markets, its been a tough road to watch the prices swing up and down from the sidelines. I have definitely missed out on buying the dips, especially via Bittrex as a US resident, due to jurisdiction issues just like others on this forum. It is what it is, :man_shrugging: .

I have participated in purchasing eMAID via UniSwap, but for a long time, I refrained from purchasing it (even at fairly low purchasing price), until I think it was David who finally made a public statement in one of the weekly updates that eMAID to SNT conversion will be supported officially by MaidSafe. That in my mindset was the catalyst I was looking for to go ahead with acquiring eMAID, as it reduced a bit off contract risk associated with eMAID (if and will, the conversion take place properly with MaidSafe’s backing/support etc).

I am not a legal expert, but for those who are US residents, I recall it not be allowed for US residents. For that reason, I have stayed away from it. I just don’t want to have sleepless nights acquiring coins from exchanges that explicitly don’t allow it in their terms & conditions for US residents.

Place a buy or sell order above or below current price on either one of them and see what happends.

What happens ?

And with Beta the conversion to SNT was coming, or how is that relevant? And with SNT some new avenues to buy and sell?

Can’t you just tell what happens?

EDIT: I have just withdrawn everything from Bittrex and you say HitBTC is a scam. You telling what happens would just be so much easier, you know?

It’s just an indication of progress really. We are going as fast as we can. Keeping going means we get closer to (e)MAID → SNT and then we have the issue of on and off ramps which IMO may be interesting.

Never thought I could fill my bags so cheaply. Thanks!

What will you do if/when they say SNT is not allowed for US residents?
