hitbtc currently has 2,471,583 maid
bittrex in the last 24h has seen 22 transactions out of cold storage. 1,036,799 maid left the exchange.
A client ordered a Model T off the BigRiver on Friday night and I was setting it up for them at Saturday lunchtime.
Because Bittrex will only transfer integer amounts of MAID - and will charge 10MAID for the privilege, they themselves will be holding a fair amount of MAID in their own wallet(s) - at least 0.5 x (no of MAID holders) - so I guess they may be easier to deal with.
What a buying opportunities, this is crazy! I am buying eMAID at $0.165. MAID is no longer the price indicator.

Very tempting, dbl edged sword here, great opportunity because our exchange situation is so dire, but there is also a major problem in that.
I was somewhat relaxed cos I only had $150 worth BTC to transfer so the loss would have been bearable - just. I’d have been bloody annoyed but not wrist-slashingly despondent…
Bittrex have never let me down before and I was comfortable with the risk.
I want to be able to trade it later but before launch, of course if you want to hold for the launch, MAID is golden now, what a steal…

I don’t thinks so but I don’t use hardware wallets, as long as OMNIwallet works, it has been around for many years without known problems. Personally I would encrypt USB’s if want to store BTC addresses and then use OMNI if want to move Maid but it is because I don’t want to spend money on Trezor or similar.
If I was unsure if a ordered Trezor would reach me in time then I would create a wallet on https://www.omniwallet.org , send MAID there and then send the Maid to the Trezor wallet at a later time.
If you would want added security you could use example https://www.bitaddress.org offline by downloading the zip file, disable the network card in network settings, make the addreses, clear all cookies and history, print them out on paper and store them on usb’s, copy only the public addresses and import the public addresses to omniwallet.org so you only can watch the balance on the addresses but not send until importing the private keys.
Maybe somone else on here can tell you the pro’s and con’s of using hardware wallet vs online wallet or paper wallet.
The main advantage is in the generation of the private key. Software generators do not have true randomness generation and over the years we have had many terrible examples of “broken” software generators leading to millions in losses:

What @Astroman said is actually the most secure way to hold you tokens as long as you securely store your keys generated from bitaddress.org This is referred to as a paper wallet. Remember a wallet only stores keys, the tokens are always on the BTC blockchain.
Personally when i generated a key years ago, I followed the advice to disconnect my internet before generating any keys, the website allows this. You can even store the webpage on disk and run it from there. Without the internet being connected after going to the site, no data can be transferred to the internet even if the site was compromised. Obviously close the browser before connecting the internet again
Thats the way it clearly reads. But note that by them not setting a last day for withdrawal, it could mean 5th dec 2023 to 31 dec 2030. But I bet its much much closer to dec 2023 then dec 2030. Usually they give 1 to 3 months to withdraw due to applicable laws.
I would be really surprised if the final date is before 4/1/24 - and much more likely 4/3/24.
From all I can see this is being forced on Bittrex, not a grab what you can and run like Altilly
As neo pointed out when we were looking at emaid, that could cause other issues.
Emaid is also traded against args, so that potentially opens another door to devaluation
