MaidSafeCoin (MAID & eMAID) - Price & Trading topic (Part 2)

Who keeps topping my bid on Bittrex :rage:?

So what’s the current problem with crypto? Centralized exchanges? I’m barely keeping up with it.

I don’t know of any platforms that will have decentralized exchanges! Definitely not :mega: the Safe Network!
Load up on cheap coyin. (It might go down some more until then.)

Some coins are just putting p2p trading straight into the client now.
A bit clunky ( no centralised matching for maker / taker ) for now but should get refined over time.
A big step forward , unless this is old and ive just missed it, not got into new coins for years till last cpl years.

I’ve been watching the balance of 1DUb2YYbQA1jjaNYzVXLZ7ZioEhLXtbUru (bittrex hot wallet) which is currently 18,899,755 so minted eMAID has reached 22.58% of the CEX held liquidity. This is what i’m using to determine when eMAID becomes the dominate coin.

I’ve done a quick analysis on volume between Bittrex and Uniswap (normalized) which can be seen in the following chat. It also includes the price difference between bittrex and uniswap (adjusted to emaidbtc).

Yellow is Uniswap volume share in for that day.

Blue is Bittrex volume share for that day.

Gray is the difference between the two in absolute value, e.g. if Bittrex Volume was higher (e.g. Blue is showing on top, then it would hide the volume of Uniswap underneath and now you can see the difference between those two relative volume).

At the bottom is the price differenec, which remains between ± 10% majority of the time some outlier at above ± 20%.

Or for those who prefer this more, the absolute volume in BTC (adjusted) for Bittrex vs Uniswap:

There is massive peak mid July where Bittrex volume obviously out-performed Uniswap that day by far. However I can see a increasing trend later on that the yellow areas are prominently above the white often with large cyan area (which is how much bigger the highest volume is).

During small volume Bittrex is often higher in daily turnover volume mostly because Uniswap trades incur higher fee so it’s easy to see small transactions on Bittrex surpass the Uniswap volume on eMAID/USDC pair. During volatility more is frequently traded on Uniswap.

Top and bottom image are same data but one is normalized to 0-1 and other is absolute values.

I wonder if Bittrex will co-operate with Altcoinomy to convert all their MAID to eMAID before 31 December 2022 (current ending period for on-boarding process). Any user that doesn’t want to have their MAID converted into eMAID would then simply withdraw them from the exchange.

I hope not.
Emaid was supposed to give us more options, not become the only tradeable option.
I hope no one is trying to encourage this.

We were assured that this would be the case, that there would be no attempt to get an exchange to force conversion, just let them continue trading MAID if they were before. Obviously if an exchange decides on their own to do it we have no control over that

With the way that centralised exchanges are imploding, I’m surprised how many MAID have been left on Bittrex. Could this partly be due to how clunky and difficult Omni is to use?

I dont think its clunky or difficult.
Add pvt key to a wallet and send, the basis of any crypto.

Edit.
Sure you need btc, but with eth you need gas.
And to get it of trex is even simpler, just sent to a btc address, so i really doubt thats it.
More likely laziness imho.

Once you’ve sent it once or twice its just about as easy as BTC and with wallet whats the difference

There is zero mobile wallet support, terrible hardwallet support (trezor barely works) . Omniwallet.org isn’t user friendly. OmniCore is meh. Yes I agree its not difficult, if you know how to use it, and are comfortable using it, then you have already got over the clunky issues you’ll no longer consider it an issue.

More people are accustom to using ERC20 tokens, its a well supported ecosystem, every part of it is just easier. With inbuilt DEX support the ā€œcounter-partyā€ risk is significantly lower. Uniswap is simply superior to Bittrex.

I just can’t see why you guys love Omni so much, It’s terrible in my opinion.

Idk if people love it, I think that there is a concern of no Omni exchange support if everyone pushes eMaid.

There could be no Omni exchange support if Bittrex implodes. Which would have nothing to do with eMaid. If you care about ā€œOmni exchange supportā€, aka wanting to make sure the tokens you hold remain liquid. Then you should absolutely swap to eMaid, to guarantee DEX support access.

You need a Omnicore Wallet or use Omniwallet. Omnicore is for most out of the questions, very very slow to sync and over 500GB. So that only leaves people with the option to use Omniwallet to send their funds or by using the exchange’s omnicore internal wallet which broadcasts the simple_send transaction for you. It’s not really that easy when Omniwallet would cease to their services.

eMAID transfers take 10~20 seconds, whereas BTC transactions only occur every block 8~12 minutes.

Not necessarily a concern of mine, I was one of the first to test the eMaid swap but if Altcoinomy stops supporting the conversion it gets tricky.

Then there is also options like DXDY which we could more easily trade eMAID on:

That simply stops any more eMAID being minted, the existing coins still retain their utility and easy of use, because of this may even trade at a premium to omniMAID. I would pay the premium for my monthly buy.

Ironically HitBTC still plods along after many years of being the dodgy exchange that should be avoided. Not to jinx it.
