Giving autonomy(i) back to the individual.
It’s possible today to self-host many things, giving you autonomy you otherwise won’t get. The problem with self-hosting is that it’s a hobby or part-time job, depending on how you define it. There’s no autonomous network you can run it on, so you need to run the network (server) yourself. Autonomi can change that, with an autonomous network, so you don’t have to maintain servers yourself.

Well it could have been a lot worse, I suppose. And “Autonomi” may well grow on me sooner or later.
The change HAD to be made, its been made in a timely fashion and its no worse than many alternatives, better than most.
I just didnt fall instantly in love with it.
Lets see what it looks like on a T-shirt…
Which is not to say I dont appreciate the hard work from many that went into this - and also the fact I cant think of anything myself that I love and fits the space. Maybe its the bitter, repressed grammar and correctness nazi in me that takes an irrational dislike to mis-spelled words in advertising.

Well presumably HP own it. So if they wanted to use it, or just cause autonomi trouble, isn’t that a risk?
Also, particularly with the trial having just started there’s scope for confusion.

I suspect this is why this launch (and @Bux) happened mid March rather than mid-Feb. I have absolutely no doubt the full due diligence re the name was done by Jim Alasdair and all others concerned in the Maidsafe team.

I was very close to getting inked as I promised on stable 2 week long test nets but I had a feeling in my gut that things could change, especially with the coin name up in the air till launch. So I kept my mouth shut. Phew.
Maybe I’ll get it anyways someday in honor of days gone past.
I am very welcoming to the new brand. I am not a fan of red BUT it is a flashy color that invokes action and urgency… I like how the naming starts as ‘ai’ then types out to ‘Autonomi’. Then of course the reference to ants in the logo.
I don’t feel like speculating on coin name or ticker but I’m pleased. Safe Network and its logo will always hold a place in my heart 
.
By the way, we are defying direct orders here! I hope that isn’t too big a deal
