v0.10.0 is a major release and updates the underlying version of Bitcoin Core from 0.18.1 to 0.20.1. This comes with a significant number of changes. In this version recovering from a hard shutdown or crash was also greatly improved.
If anyone understands the significance of this, happy to see that described… nice to see it ticking over and making improvements but roadmap for Omni has always seemed a bit obscure.
Interesting video. What struck me was that even these folks deep into the space are still not there with safe network. I wonder how long that can last and what the impact will be when they start talking about it? If they like filecoin, decentraland and zcash, safe network will blow their minds!
I wonder most days how did I find this project before all these people.
… One person who is x10 up on their investment in MaidSafe is surrounded by people who are apparently experts in crypto and know nothing of this project and the only reason my friend stuck with maidsafe is because they trust me and ignored the experts.
I also see all this big money investing kind of trying to force something top down. With Safe Network it is easy to see, how things will probably evolve bottom up.
Like how we have already shared files via testnet. It’s really short step to torrent and Wetransfer (etc.) replacement. The permanence of storage will take a bit more time to prove itself, but “sending” files to be used outside the network is there right from the beginning.
EDIT: I mean, you don’t make it happen with money, you make it happen by being handy.
Amen to that! Even the deepest pockets run dry trying to flog a dead horse. Bitcoin grew organically because it was seen as a useful way to replace fiat, banks and payment systems. In fact, people got rich following this process.
I’m feeling super excited today. I must bottle it in a blog post or some such!
IPFS Union boasts core members from Microsoft, Alibaba, SAP, Huawei, SNDA, Giant Network, AMD, Inventec and others.
Hmmm, why are big tech companies - some of whom have their own centralized data centers interested in a decentralized (but not anonymous nor autonomous) solution?
Are they AFRAID of another decentralized solution coming soon?
They are doing it for sure for profit. They should have already FIL otherwise they will need buy more to keep 0,3FIL/TB ratio.
1TB HDD cost 30$ and 0,3FIL cost 50$.
