I guess many of those in Wave 1 were sitting there looking on in horror during the MAID crowdsale a decade ago.
David snatched victory from the jaws of something and set us up to be able to have confidence in him, his vision and his team. In their ability to handle any problem and bash through any roadblock along the way. In a way perhaps we needed that!
It’s nice to see that spirit seems to be absorbed by many who joins us along the way on this wild ride.
Things were not smooth then. Things have never been smooth because this project is like no other. And we are seeing more of that now with the beta, the Disco, I mean Discord bots, unfathomable rewards rules and leaderboard standings etc etc
It’s a wild ride here folks, and some of us are so used to it we barely notice. Well, ok, not quite that relaxed, but we know where we are headed and stay focused on that.
Whether it is October this year or next (with Tumbleweed on the Discord) this project is going to succeed and we’ll all be able to say, I was there.

For me, no surprises as to how the beta is progressing. The dev team built something that has never been done before, and bux and the communityfacing maidsafers are trying to release something thats never been released before.
Things like the leaderboard are quite work intensive, and I see them keeping stuff together like a bunch of overcaffeinated octopusses. Chapeau. And thank you for talking to the community at 2 am sometimes.
Yes, ofcourse the community is important. Both the OG’s and the newcomers. Even the ‘wen lambo’ types.
But lets not forget that maidsafe is a software development business that is unleashing something completely bananas into the world.
It may not be for everyone, but if you feel frustrated, look at how there’s a near cult like bunch of exceptionally smart people in the community trying to support the team. This is a place where I’m always sure I’m not the smartest one in the room. And I love that. Still so much to learn.
Just have to put it out there. I absolutely LOVE that my laptop is earning nanos and helping secure and decentralize the internet, while I’m using it and when it’s just sitting there waiting to be used.
What a feeling. What an achievement. What is even more exciting? What’s next.
i dont jam but my flat is usually got a few guitars kicking about after work on Friday’s . And we have a song written for the birth of a grand daughter that the grandad would like jammed.
Just run the nodes. If an upgrade occurs the worse is that you earn nothing more after the update. But without a date for next update/upgrade then I’d say its a week away at least
Leaving your nodes doing their stuff undisturbed might turn out to the best thing you have ever done. No guarantees, but it’s a bit like leaving your investment account alone for a decade vs trying to time the market. Enjoy your vacation .
