That worked for me - thanks.
Unfortunately I have 14 nodes that have been running on the VPS for around 2 days, and all on zero rewards… oh well. (edit - this is expected. See replies below!)

that is expected though, as it stands all rewards are sent to the foundation? that is why I check the logs for payments my wallets are also empty.
the rewards are getting sent to the foundation. install vdash and it will show you the rewards from the logs not the wallet. it will make you feel better
That’s not an xor name. Looks more like your wallet balance.
Probably a sloppy cuntpaste – silly moi…
Pasted a bit more carefully - completed inside 8 mins
i cant download the node launcher for windows says virus detected?
I started 20 nodes on my MAC using launchpad. It says services added, but no peerId’s yet, nothing running, it’s been like that for about an hour. Is that normal?
Discord name: morph9232
how do I start the node launchpad in powershell please?
Thanks for highlighting this - makes sense.
I’ll try getting going on trying to install vash sometime… my previous attempt failed as I couldn’t get rust to install for some reason. Nothing is simple around here yet
Discord ID: ettore3445
Would this help?
Can anyone share some proven valid SAFE_PEERS, please?
Thanks. The issue last time was that Visual Studio failed to install on Windows 11. Installer would hang every time I tried… very odd.
This time I’ll be installing on Linux, so I’ll see if that’ll be smoother. I’ll give it a shot tomorrow!
is the correct answer
I just fired up a Win11 VM. Spent 10 mins refusing all the spyware intended to “assist” me and then strangely Edge would not properly load the Brave download page…
so I have found better things to do.
It took at least a day before my ISP supplied router to start slowing down with 30 nodes. Its the combined connections of all the nodes and this can be a peak at any time and once it hits that peak that causes the router to lose NAT translations from its table then nodes then scramble to get more peers increasing the NAT connections yet again.
In other words the router has a table of the NAT connections and once full it then prunes current NAT connections in order to fit new ones. Once that happens the nodes start scrambling for new peers which overwhelm the NAT table and the internet then seems a tad unresponsive.
This condition is likely to continue until enough nodes settle back down so the table is no longer full. If too many nodes this will never happen, but if 50% less than the critical cascading point then that should be safe enough.
@joshuef you might want to let someone know that this is a likely reason why some people experience problems after a period of time, and remains problematic. (NAT table in their router fills up then nodes make new connections to peers keeping the NAT table full)
This would be a reason for the manager to reduce node count - a massive rise in bad connections
Not the way its written and @qi_ma confirmed all nano are sent back, either with your discord ID or maidsafe ID if no owner specified.
Yes, and seems to be miscommunications here. @JimCollinson seemed to want us to be able to earn nanos if we wanted to upload. And when the maid conversion process is tested then we will be able to anyhow, so doesn’t seem sensible to deny earning if no owner. I know those not in the waves doing testing will be complaining about their nodes not earning
As far as I read on the internet Bridge mode does not create a double NAT because it skips the NAT table of the router (This eliminates the need to buy an expensive router and directly connects the end nodes device). I have no idea how many connections ubuntu 22.04 can handle, seems fine to me for now.
For me, it starts under Windows 11 by right-clicking on launchpad and Run as Administrator.
Privacy. Security. Freedom
I was going to ask the same. @Josh i was looking at terminals to download for mobile. Was there any specific requirements or procedures to run a node on mobile?
