Uploads are still running smoothly (see below).
I just uploaded a 2.14GB folder with 963 photos in about four hours without any errors.
I have downloaded some photos randomly, for testing, without problems although the initial peers found is a bit slow.
But something weird happens to me with a file I tried to upload yesterday.
I got the following error:
Failed to store all chunks of file āZoiper5_5.6.1.pkgā to all nodes in the close group: Network Error Could not retrieve the record after storing it: 5fd565a5b9596861a9ddf753f2a0ffd997cae59a34a9b59e461bba2327a28871.
Today I tried to re-upload this same file and I got the following errors:
First attempt
Failed to store all chunks of file āZoiper5_5.6.1.pkgā to all nodes in the close group: Network Error Could not retrieve the record after storing it: af60c34525354cc9cb02e0e1efa61826f0b9e98b8e6a079d9b53982f381827b6.
Second attempt
Failed to store all chunks of file āZoiper5_5.6.1.pkgā to all nodes in the close group: Network Error Could not retrieve the record after storing it: 87bda0faa93cdf58ab45a1d7c328dec34b1a5833bb35f02bfaf598a91c598602.
There seems to be no way to recover from the first failure.

FYI. Windows really didnāt like Client version 0.80.41. Was able to upload and download a couple of files yesterday before safe.exe was quarantined. Uploaded and scanned safe.exe online and it came back clean, so I created an exemption for the directory where safe.exe resides and itās been fine since. Iāve participated in most all the testnets and have never seen this happen before.

Inadequate reaction of antiviruses to rare files is common thing.

@joshuef Do nodes receive any of the payment and if so is there anything that can be picked out of the node log?

Aye atm, youāll never pay the correct price if your first proofs were cheaper. Fix coming for that

Really not having any luck with this testnet, canāt upload, 19.999999993 from my balance was from the previous testnet (I was too lazy to remove it)

Hi @mav I know itās not the most important issue in the world, but I just wanted to follow up on this.
The ~/.safe path is not something thatās in use any more. The dirs-next crate is used to supply default locations that are based on the XDG specification for Linux and standard directories on other operating systems. The directories split out configuration and data, which I personally think is useful.
To be completely accommodating, we could possibly support the use of environment variables that allow users to override these locations, but I donāt know if it would be a particular priority at the moment.

My first upload (slow as treacle) and got,

@digipl getting (16), you (4) and me (8). Is it that more nodes were added and the price dropped or that the nodes @digipl and I stored our data at held more data and charged more.
Seems problematic if one person pays 4 times what another does cause the nodes in his neighborhood have more chunks and are charging a premiuim.
