Hey everyone!

Excellent job @Nigel
Nice to see you @Nigel , this was exciting It’s encouraging to see your enthusiasm!
Great stuff indeed but Nick, you say you were inspired by punk but you are far too young to have been around then
Thanks guys for the encouragement, much appreciated. I was so nervous to do it (if you couldn’t tell), now I’m thinking about all the things I missed talking about, JAMS specific and more broadly. I think it could be fun to do again someday.
I’m not quite old enough to have been there from the start Mark but it can influence you at ANY age! I hope punk makes a huge comeback. Excited to see Propaganghi is making a new record. The real debate is where did the punk get started! Haha. Not a worthy debate imo though, who cares? Speaking of at any age, I’d like to see you with one of the stereotypical mohawks.
I know Jim has a list of podcasts lined up, but I have no doubt he would love to do it again with you! It was a great watch!
I’d like to see @happybeing with a reverse Mohawk, cos that looks just about possible…
He he, I won’t embarrass you by asking your age.
BTW your nervousness was not apparent and you came across very well IMO.
As for where punk started, who knows. These things don’t really start in one place or moment of course.
It was nice for me to be on the edge of it all and I can remember punk being one of many genres I enjoyed. Being in UK were very lucky I think.
I saw The Ramones live, who are credited with the term ‘punk rock’ AFAIK, among others. More times by chance than design as i look back which is amusing.
That’s so cool! Love to hear people’s personal experiences like that. Would be fun to hear more of the adventures of Mark someday, potential Impossible Futures guest fodder??
Not for me, in person certainly. I look forward to it.
Hope people comment and share this on YouTube and socials as a vote of confidence. I might have the podcast bug thanks to Jim and Gill (who were super accommodative and supportive, so I hope others also participate in the podcast and/or Impossible Futures challenge) which is making me start to think I should take up Autonomi evangelism
Really want to get the word out and support the project and this community if that is something people think I could be effective at.
Thanks @Nigel it was a pleasure to listen and really nice to get to see the face behind a familiar name. Good job!
One minor nitpick, and this is really minor:
For the next time, could you posit your camera about on the eye level? When looking at this now I got a bit weird feeling when you were talking to me from “from above” perspective. This bothered me a bit when watching from external screen, but when I switched to phone, it got much better. The perspective was perhaps accentuated because of camera angle to the room. Also, I think I’m a bit more sensitive to this kind of thing than most other folks.
Heard this earlier and thought you may like it @Nigel ! Glad to see them make a come back recently!
Anytime I hear this song, I instantly think of Beetlejuice. Love that movie. This is a great cover! Thanks for sharing
