How did the network hold up during yesterdays Iberian power outage?

I didn’t notice any impact, despite running repeated performance tests throughout yesterday (not due to Spain, but out of general curiosity!).

I don’t think there were many managed nodes in the affected area. Also, the internet, at least via mobile, continued to work so, for example, nodes located on VPSs were not affected.

It was apparently Portugal, Spain and parts of France.
It’s Space weather root cause, Solar Wind Hurricane, I kid you not, combined with weakened magnetic field protection at the time over that part of Europe due to the pole shift movement and the fact the High pressure system on that day turned out be a perfect confluence to support massive solar forcing, which screwed up the grid frequency regulation, in key spots, then the Doppler effect took over because of the grid’ safety mechanisms.
