I feel they have all been super fast until they seemingly ran out of resources (the mem spikes could also perhaps be a symptom not a cause)

Following official protests from the Southside Household Gamer community my somewhat arbitary port-forwarding rules have had to be rolled back… My riposte that if they didnt like it they should pay for the bleedin internet themselves fell on deaf ears however…

I solved it by opening my router port forwarding dialog, then running the node join command and looking for the port I was assigned see blue circled bit
then add that port as UDP to your local desktop IP

Yes you need to be quick before it times out. THis is a long way from a satisfactory solution.
Im about to try the same kind of thing with an AWS node. Will I be able to get the security group configured before it times out?
