This didn’t work out of the box:

yes for node install to work you can build safe_network with cargo build --release --features=self-update or just get it from github as you said.

I have two nodes online now

1. at home ubuntu running in virtual box
   2 an arm based oracle node as discoverd by @happybeing

for any one who trying to run a node on a x86 machine with ubuntu

cd ~/.safe/node/
wget https://github.com/maidsafe/safe_network/releases/download/safe_network-v0.51.6/sn_node-0.51.6-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl.tar.gz
tar xf *.tar.gz
chmod +x sn_node
chown <your username> sn_node

if it still fails do a manual port forward in your router to the port mentioned in the start up message

also i had to allow the mentioned port in ufw

I am going to restart with higher capacity now.
