International Poloniex Customers &
Bittrex International Customers will
continue to be able to Buy or trade
MAID without having to do anything.
I think it’s positive that Poloniex is
taking steps to grow their Business,
they are going to be backed by a
$100M Asian Investment Group,
planning to add and improve their
offerings. Might turn out optimal
for MAID in a very short time…

well at least we know our 1500 whale saviour guy is not American… either that or he is realllllly confident to HODL millions of dollars worth with no way to sell in the short term
buy now and be forced to HODL and not sell too early before widespread adoption where every corner store sells cards for small use case amounts man I ALWAYS sell too early. I should put all my crypto in wallets and move to flordia for a few years
Just to be clear, as a US resident who is HODLing to the end, any coins that I have which are all stored in paper wallets, nothing needs to be changed at this point since I could careless about trading them correct? I just sit back and wait until we hit $1000/coin?
Just withdrew maid from poloniex to my omniwallet address and got the message “complete:error” . the transaction never reached my omni wallet and never showed on the btc explorer. I opened a ticket. Has it ever happened to anyone here before?
That was in reference to “Omni Core”, not “Omni Wallet”. I’d asked in a previous comment about Omni Core [github], a desktop software client based on the Bitcoin Core client, and later saw that it has the “EXPERIMENTAL” disclaimer. Omni Wallet [github] is a web-based wallet that doesn’t have that disclaimer.
Now, the thing about Omni Wallet is that you can run it on your own (open source software). Looks a little involved to do, but I haven’t tried. I’m assuming that is safe. Or the easy way is, you can use it on their website omniwallet.org without having to install anything on your computer. Personally, I shy away from anything where a third party server has your private key (especially over a long duration of time). But I might use it down the road when the time comes that I want to redeem my maidsafecoin for safecoin (i.e. once safecoin’s development is finished and safe network is launched).
As far as getting your maidsafecoin moved off of Poloniex, @thc mentioned that you can use omniwallet.org without giving your private key:
I use a ledger personally and I sent my MAID to my BTC address. The only issue is that ledger don’t support OMNI protocol and I can not transfer easily in case I want to move them…
Omni is pretty much outdated now. Its just on that because MAID was one of the very first “token coins” that are now a dime a dozen on the ETH chain. TBH I would totally support a migration to ETH or some other more modern chain but I don’t think they want to complicate the SAFEcoin exchange at final with another token 2.0
Anyways don’t worry actual SAFEcoin won’t be on any blockchain. It will be verified by the actual SAFE network and apparently for zero cost!
Glad to hear so many people are at least trying to deal with it and make HODLing happen though!!! Really didn’t expect this many people to be willing to wait it out like that. I am sure you will be rewarded in the end long after I have already sold mine wayyyy to early
I don’t know about you guys but I bought so much MAID on this dip its tempting to try to be a dick and suppress the price for a rebuy while in panic mode for the next few days. Well no I don’t do EVERYTHING possible to make money trading lol. Still I gotta think some others will do this and I’ll at be there to compete on the buy side for sure!
In fact I have seen that many times before. You get a bit of news then big sell walls goes up and everyone dumps then walls disappear after the panic synergy is over.
Not sure, but can US customers use https://changelly.com/ ?
They works for couple of years and looks like solid company.
Exchange rate looks OK.
Edit:
Another move for @maidsafe could be get MAID on crypto.com wallet, but I think that all pairs they offer must be on Binance.
Edit 2: Terms of use from Changelly:
“4.1.3 - you are NOT in, under the control of, or a national or resident of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Crimea, Sudan, Syria, United States of America (including all USA territories like Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Island, and the US Virgin Islands (St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas), Bangladesh and Bolivia, as well as any other country subject to United Nations Security Council Sanctions List and its equivalent (“Prohibited Jurisdictions”). Changelly does not operate in Prohibited Jurisdictions. Changelly maintains the right to select its markets and jurisdictions to operate and may restrict or deny its services to certain countries at any time;”
wonder if it would be possible to set up a DEX somehow on the SAFE network. I am no tech wiz so you can lol at me now if that is a silly suggestion. Just seems to me webpages often run code. In fact like every modern page is a lot more then just a document. Would it be possible to write a code that can interact with the blockchain so people can deposit and withdraw? I gotta figure the actual exchange is doable. Its just like a big spreadsheet that gets updated frequently by many people. Can we maybe even do it in Fleming since we will have true decentralization by then?
