Your statement fails to convince me, you say it is not like that, but that is exactly how it would be, all coins would be returned to their original owner, so I don’t see how you can say it’s not like that.
As you point out, they would lose anyway, that is true.
As for saying most coins would be on the same address, possibly, but if we see significant gains, possibly not.
