Next step of safecoin algorithm design

Got an interesting question in the “price and trading” topic about if the current supply of Safecoins on the network will be known. Will it be possible to know the current supply or aproximat current supply of Safecoins on the network? From earlier discussions there seems to be a way. But will it be possible with Safecoin as integers instead of as data items, will that affect the possibility to know the current supply?
