MaidSafeCoin (MAID & eMAID) - Price & Trading topic (Part 2)

Just to stress this - that would be awesome - a performant, permissionless (and maybe even feeless) exchange on safe would be super awesome and Impressively demonstrate why this project will succeed

Centralized Exchange = CEX
Decentralized Exchange = DEX
Safe Exchange = ?EX

ā€˜Sā€™ or ā€˜Fā€™ arenā€™t really the best option here. Time to put some thinking caps on ants.

Or we just have a decentralised marketplace that by accident does as well allow token trading (and has nice ui for that purposeā€¦)

That would open up naming possibilities I assume :face_with_monocle:

Iā€™ve always suspected CEX shops got half of their customer growth from the fact that it is pronounced like ā€˜sexā€™. It makes people do a double take and actually pay attention out of curiosity as to what the hell you are talking about. So maybe SEX wouldnā€™t be such a bad abbreviation.

How about SaEx or SafEx?

Thatā€™s great to hear! I really want to get a firm grasp on what each component does, how it interacts with the others and how it is implemented. Having followed the project for so many years, I feel remiss for not making the time to do this already. Now that things are firming up and readying for launch, I want to do this now though.

Ofc, experimenting is fun and a great way to learn too. I just want to internalise the stack and see how I can contribute and use the technology for some projects and write some articles about it.

https://safex.io/

Actually that exists (and if you search the forum you might find old topics about it because it was meant to run on safe ; )

ā€¦ Maybe an additional note here ā€¦ I donā€™t want to promote that project in any wayā€¦ Just mentioned it because of the nameā€¦

I would say ā€œNegative Ghost Rider.ā€ I guarantee you that Big Tech [FB, Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Twitter, etc.] and Govā€™t Big Tech [NSA, FBI, DOJ, UN, EU, etc.] do NOT want this technology to become successful, let alone ubiquitous. Proof is already there how AWS unilaterally shut down Parler, and FB one-sidedly cancelled other accounts of high-profile conservative groups, business, and individuals.

The NEXT Network

Lol man. I already thought of the new slogan. ā€œSafe Exchange, better than Sex.ā€

Private intelligence agency - Wikipedia this is another very powerful centre of power, Booz-Allen-Hamilton, Stratfor, many many others. At least the NSA etc pretend to serve the public interest. These privae companies business is literally predicated on the frailties of existing communications infrastructure. Safe will be not good news for them.

Disney, the RIAA (recording industry association of america), hollywood, and similar copyright empires. These are extremely politically connected groups who also will have a very strong interest in Safe being destroyed.

In the big tech companies, Iā€™m probably most excited to see how Microsoft reacts. Theyā€™ve been the most horrifyingly successful in their corporate rebranding of themselves as loving open source and being hip and modern, and I wonder if weā€™ll see how far that really goes.

You make very good points here. These companies and orgs. are ruthless.

We should expect to be delisted. What is the plan if we are delisted off the only exchange we have? How quickly can it be implemented?

Full Beta is 39 days away. What kind of PR, publicity is planned? How do we promote beta and not get the attention of these orgs.?

I donā€™t imagine theyā€™d be thrilled by @happybeing 's GitHub alternative

In the scheme of things, Microsoft isnā€™t going to lose too much sleep over something like the Safe Network. Their main revenue stream is corporate licensing and I donā€™t see that going away any time soon. Their suite of products is simply too ubiquitous in the corporate world.

I see Facebook and Google as the big losers from the Safe Network. Their total reliance on data mining will be the end of them sooner or later. Hopefully it is sooner with the Safe Network.

Absolutely nothing, overall, the more money you spend the better the experience is

Full beta is 39 days away? Iā€™m not sure whatā€™s going on here, what are you talking about?

To your other points - there is a sense of panic and doomsday in your thinking there which Iā€™m not sure is reasonable at all, and I donā€™t know if addressing your questions directly is a good ideaā€¦ I mean that neutrally, as in, reading your comment I feel worried that you might be overextended, or putting too much faith in one definite vision of the future, or something like that.

The reality is things might not work out, no one can tell the future, and yeah that can a bit terrifying sometimes
