MaidSafeCoin (MAID & eMAID) - Price & Trading topic (Part 2)

When people say things that are misleading, I think it is fair to expect that to be responded to. People keep doing that, and most of the time I don’t respond so really, where is the swarm?

As for the team, what they say really matters and when it is misleading, that is on them when the reality is pointed out, not on someone pointing it out.

IMO it’s almost always worse to let wrong or misleading information pass. It leads to unrealistic expectations, disappointment and distrust.

I think perhaps you are getting the impression I’m singling you out? and I definitely am not. Have a lot of respect for you.

I do think you lay in awfully hard and unnecessarily at times and I understand that is something that some folks do when they really care but I think my point keeps on being glossed over. If I was to say though, when you say something, being such a long time supporter and active contributor, longer than most of us, people see your disgust and it seems to hit even harder, to the point I think it can scare new comers away. :man_shrugging:

My point has been, it is useful to point things out, but saying the same thing repeatedly doesn’t actually change anything and so just ends up doing the opposite of what is intended.

Nobody needs to take anything personally and of course this is just my personal point of view. I’m no better or more right than anyone else but just like everyone else feels the need to speak up, I do as well.

I do just want to point out though that by pointing out that network capacity is misleading was also misleading.

Your one comment about over-provisioning, whether intentional or not, seemed to imply they don’t know that, don’t care, or do know it, are not doing anything about it and are being intentionally dishonest. All of which is also untrue and misleading, imo. Hence unhelpful, unnecessary and somewhat damaging.

It wouldn’t even come across that way with some rephrasing tbh.

The only reason what I say has an impact of because people trust it.

I don’t think I’m harsh in the language, and I haven’t suggested anything underhand. I do point out that when people find they’ve been mislead that’s bad for the project, and it’s a repeated pattern.

The only reason I keep pointing things out is in response to things that are misleading.

I don’t take what you say personally though, so don’t worry about that. But as all the criticism of negativity and so on is generalised and not directed at particular comments, nobody really knows what it’s based on.

I don’t see anyone who objects to this contradicting it. We keep coming back here because of that, and continuing misleading statements.

I think I value honesty and integrity more than most, and to me that’s a shame, but not on me.

There is a balance here.

For example, since my new router has been setup, my uploading experience has been pretty good. It has an issue sometimes, but is resolved by a retry.

Yet, I read that uploads and/or the network is broken, you can’t upload, etc. You can, you just the right gear (not perfect, but exaggerations don’t help).

I performed a bunch of performance tests, through sn_httpd and published them on the forum. The same tooling by another member confirmed the results and pointed towards high performance (low latency, high throughout).

Yet, we have folks distrusting that the network is fast, or that it could be used for over the counter transactions. Maybe not now for everyone, but with appropriate hardware, it shows it can be done.

Maybe there is a distrust until people can see things with their own eyes, with their own hardware. I get that too. But others feed off that.

Maybe some of us are overly optimistic or positive, but I genuinely feel like we’re close and what I see with my hardware is impressing me. I want to share this with others and those who can’t see it with their own hardware yet. The team are clearly working hard on broadening that support.

Everyone’s opinion is important. We need cheerleaders, we need skeptics, and we even need FUD. Everything is in balance on this forum. People love that they can tell the truth as they see it.

Not sure who FUD helps?

shorters obviously

Sad to say, some of the FUD is (inadvertently) coming from the team with the poor communications.

And you are right , it is not helping.

I know, everybody on the team is super busy, likely with multiple conflicting priorities right now.
Somebody (CEO) needs to bring all the strands together and tell us unequivocally what is happening in the next few days. PLEASE

I know we are a tough audience. We’d be no good if we were anything other than that.

If Autonomi lives up to what most of us here expect it to do, anything we say about it now, either positive, negative, constructive or destructive, will be a tempest in a teacup. I like to keep positive myself.

Autonomi will become a behemoth, set out into the world, on its own.

Those who want to tear it down at that point, will be like fleas arguing who owns the dog.

For me, I’m so happy we are moving along with such excellent momentum. I trust the team completely. We are in good hands.

I dunno, seemingly innocuous statements could be interpreted the wrong way. If it were me, in a position of corporate responsibility, I think I would err on the side of caution and button my lip, just to be safe. You never know what crazy rules some of these exchanges might have regarding what can be done before a listing. Just conjecture, to be sure. But it’s possible. There just doesn’t seem to be any other plausible explanation for the deafening and uncharacteristic silence of a number of the principals of Maidsafe/Autonomi.

Seems more like without a definite date on TGE at the moment and current beta rewards program being extended, I’d say she is waiting for conclusive things to talk about.

Always a better look to speak from a position where the path forward is on certain ground.

Its pretty obvious that there are some things holding up TGE and best to sort them out first.

Doesn’t help us much being left in the dark, but it is what it is.

Also we don’t know how much longer we will wait to get the ticker symbol/name most desired for the project. I know they had to wait for things to happen to get ANT as the name and it seems that might not yet be certain

Too soon to say that we weathered that storm pretty well?

Just popped on for a wee while. I am not sure what the errors are here or the argument happening. I just hope everyone is getting on fine. I know the team are very busy and in loads of legal talks and issues and that is very tough to get around. It’s quite a landmine laden field these days.

Folk seem to want some of the conversations to be public and there’s just no way that can happen.

Apart from that. I am not sure of folk are perceiving silence on anything more nefarious or whatever, but I am positive there is none of that. I do know som eon the team are very uncomfortable on the forum these days as they do feel victims of “pile ons” and lecturing and that is a shame, but I can see it as well.

It seems there is a bunch of people who want this all to work and that is great. It seems it all about who is in control and the legals mean the team have to be quiet about a lot of things and especially revealing any details until they are all signed off by lawyers and agreed but he board or shareholders or whatever. It’s quite a lot. In any case the lack of insider knowledge being shared is not about control at all, it’s purely the world we live in and the rules and regulations we have to all be terrified of getting wrong.

So I hope folk don’t see lack of comms or opening of Kimonos as having control, it’s nothing to do with that. I think if a few of us have seen what’s involved in this kind of launch, legally, these days then it would be clear.

Anyway, I do hope there can be more support and care for each other. There’s never a need to lecture or make accusations etc. I hope none of us get into that territory as many scammers would love to peel at that loose thread. I think if trust is lost then it’s a shame, but I don’t think that is the case here.

In other news anyway, we absolutely need to consider this changing world we are now in. I think the recent data type changes will be really really important for this new world and the dangers and opportunities it will bring.

We must have these data types and we must have apps that include nodes as well and all of these are going to have to run at low power (measured in milliwatts) and low resources and we are also seriously going to have to consider much more in terms of homomorphic encryption and a type of data (knowledge) sharing that is nothing like sharing docs and photo’s. It’s wild what’s happening and we have so much to get our energy into that is important. Squibbles over some coin size or name or exchange rules and all that jazz is maybe important to some. For me the picture is much larger and the value proposition could be immense and of much more value than publishing and sharing docs and photos.

/End of quick thoughts

None at all, the markets crashed like crazy and MAID held strong, very strong compared to many that dropped 30% or more.

Was 100% serious that we did well :grinning:

nice one  I was not replying to you direct @Josh it was just a general comment on the thread really. I just felt there was some underlying anger and resentment brewing or something. Anyway good to hear about the coin price as that must be a good sign.

Ahh, you did actually reply to me directly .
Had to read my post again to see what I said. Glad it was just a miss reply

Steady as she goes, as always, MAID maintains. This train can not be stopped. Momentum is on our side. Autonomi is gathering steam. And about to speed up the hill. It will be on top. Cheers

Well I think we probably held up because we only have people who believe in the project holding.

Cause with our liquidity it would take far less than yesterday’s chaos to take a plunge.
