I wonder what thinks @dirvine on this matter of 3 years. Probably immense optimism as usual as evidenced through the code and thus far development! Nice to put it into perspective. Personally I’m excited for the next 3 months. I would say 3 days but that’s a fool’s trap. Maybe the next 3 equinoxes, especially if the team is from outer space.

A realistic target price is 20 to 30 cents, we are heading that way.
We might even dip under 20 cents, more than possible.
That might be the direction, but I just don’t think there is enough time to go that low. Development is too quick and when the network starts to stay up and stable a bit longer, that is going have effect on price too.
There has been more bumps in the road than I thought about three months ago, but the recent action in github seems very promising to me. Things are moving in every level. Might seem a bit messy at times, but I think that it is that kind of tinkering that leads the efficiency, stability and speed to get to the level needed.
Been awhile without a test net toy yes. Surely to change. Maybe some more Thursday updates first? But I think they know the benefit of having both; though I’m no engineer, or they could simply feel more comfortable releasing updates while working on new factors (DBC), just out of the sheer spirit of the team cycling from tests to that and being so engrossed in it. Got to factor in the developer feelings, not just traders and investors, and everyone will be better for it.
There is no current bear cycle until the next halving - a bear trend yes, but within the larger bull market of this 4 year cycle.
Going to make a big prediction that price will move up significantly this august, not only will it take out the last high but as the trend extrapolates it yield a lot higher targets now that it is heading for old resistance levels.
Edit: Also note that you see a surge in volume toward the peak on 2018. This appears to be place where many bought MAID and that price is just floating around the low liquidity zone below. So I expect price to rally into this liquidity block, which from current price is great gain (6620-9030) and there we really should get a ton of fundamental support like releases to push through and make those holders believe we are getting into new phase of release to public.
I think this will depend on how well the testnet/s planned for August progress.
I hope you are joking around about maidsafe development speed… I think thursday updates are back because testnets now is far away

Mildly off topic. But curiosity question for David and Co: When the team launches Fully Operational Capability (FOC) after Beta, what spirit(s) do you have chilling ready for the toast? 
I hope you will do beta in 6 months or this year, because you said 5 months ago that

Yeah no definitive date there and explicitly mentions it’s an opinion. We all want things now. That’s not always reality.

Hehe, I’ve stopped watching the price again for the last few months (still buying monthly) and come in here and there’s acres of gloomy screenspace. Thought oh man, it must have tanked… We bottomed out in the 40’s during a nice crash… still 4x (5x+ now) where it was a year ago. Zoom out, see the progress and new price floor and relax. Life got a lot better for me when I fully committed to a few projects and stopped sweating the daily movements. At least a couple years left here to fully reap the fruit. Accumulate as much as you can while still sleeping like a baby, help where you can, and enjoy the ride.
