I was following some discussions over at the Autonomi Discord earlier today and caught a link to a project Preserved on Autonomi and Funded by the Autonomi Foundation that hasn’t been publicly announced yet: Reading-Room.com.
People in the chat were buzzing about it, and it seems the site is currently live for “pre-launch” testing. It looks like a super-refined, minimalist platform, I’m expecting some interesting tech or philosophy behind it.
I didn’t get past the home page, which has logically fallacious quotes that appear to be asserted as ‘new truths’ … seems rather culty to me as it’s not inviting debate, it’s preaching some new sort of ideology.
Domain name Reading-Room.com is not autonomi. A framed link to something is not the something. In the 10 years or so waiting for maidsafe to actually release what it promised I learned only that its PR department is insufferably patronizing. More indecipherable bullsh*t. Thanks for pointing it out again Dimitar.
We are on it, last minute sweat for sure, but remember everyone, this is step 1 in a much larger rollout. The coming weeks and months should be filled with fixes, improvements, products and more
So we MUST NOT have a binary, give me, it’s done approach here. This is a tsunami of work and products. It starts with a slow moving stream and builds from there. So please let’s get the mindset of constant improvements, constant products, constant march forward.
We don’t give you things any more, we add our own products to the mix. If we want autonomy, if we want p2p networks, privacy, security and freedom, we all need to work for it and we all need to understand the consequences and more important know the consequences of not doing this (terrible).
So think journey folks, journey, not the end, not the here it is, but…
NOW IT BEGINS
Not maidsafe, not autonomi, but all of us, everyone who can contribute should, everyone who cannot should be helped. No more feeding the animals and cheering, we are all now the animals.
I’d hate to be the one having to write up the Thursday update. There is so much to report.
As much as having migrated to and using Discord is debatable, it looks like the forum has been overrun by, I don’t even know really. It’s to a point where I don’t even feel safe typing anything on the forum. Maybe the team should give up on the forum, while everyone else can dance around — in their closed sourced Discord “cult”, sweating bullets from coding and communicating 18 hours per day — from now having actually created the foundational release for what has been worked on for two decades. It’s beyond even what was expected imo: the world’s first [redacted because of untrustworthy people].
