Is there actually anything being used on the latest network.
Etch/Fetch it. Cool couple of apps if you ask me. I’m not sure about the original rollout schedule tho.
Might help if there was any advertising/marketing. As it stands, zero publicity traction. Most of the world doesn’t know it exists, let alone its differentiating capability or true potential.
If they get this new forum / discord platform running on the network that everyone can move to I think that will be a decent moment to start shouting about it.
Bux has mentioned in recent updates that marketing is coming, but it obviously needs to be timed well with something very good to show people. Hopefully we are close to that.
I’m not sure about marketing anymore. So much ragebait, clickbait, nonsense, brainrot, ai slop, attention grabbing, antagonizing bullshit out there people have grown numb and pay little attention to anything.
David would have to put his head in a bucket full of hot caramel and then sit next to the biggest ant nest in Scotland blabbering about agents, decentralized networks, networking, humanity – and ants – with his accent.
In all honesty, I don’t believe there are any non-vague, non-conformist marketing plans. There will be some generic content by a couple of low-tier paid influencers. If the team had any idea how to market this to anyone outside the community, there would already be some sort of buildup and it would have been going on for years, months at least.
All these years of development, the community (invested community) screaming from the rooftops to market it! And yet year over year, the response has been “Don’t worry it’s coming,” “We’re almost there,” “Just one more version,” “Just need to squash these bugs,” “Be patient.” I’m sure I am leaving out dozens of other just-wait responses from the team. I still am skeptical whether they can get past any regulations at this late stage. Gov’t’s are increasing their capture and management of all citizen data (just read about the World Economic Forum’s agenda, articles and minutes) and will not tolerate an uncontrollable internet technology.
If the network works as the best alternative to the captured internet, then it won’t need any marketing.
Yeah.
Getting great products working on Autonomi would be the best marketing, e.g. if people & projects start using a quality decentralised alternative to Discord / Discourse / slack / X / YouTube / Spotify etc etc.
Getting a platform capable of delivering these is the first step. Developing the products is the next.
While promotion activity may not be essential once this is achieved, it could help get word out faster than organic growth will do alone, and enable more people to benefit from the tech more quickly. But promotion without awesome products will just be wasted, except a possible short-term token price pump.
It needs eyeballs to build momentum
it does, but if the eyeballs look and don’t see a finished working product they go and unlikely to return anytime soon.
There are well over 17,000 cryptocurrencies in existence. Most people have heard of 1, possibly 2. You can’t market obscure cryptocurrencies in 2026. But its a hurdle that must be overcome by Autonomi: to use the network you must purchase and use obscure L2 cryptocurrency. This is a near impossible marketing task, due to the public’s (well justified) skepticism of crypto (scams galore). There is zero historical evidence this can be overcome in the minds of the general public. Its never happened 17,000+ times.
It needs a miracle to sell a ANYTHING dependent on crypto to more than a handful of people.
Apart from bitcoin none of them offer any real value barring maybe Ethereum.
Just like before the dotcom bubble tons of money was being thrown at any company doing a .com product. Most of them failed, and many years later the real value started to rise from the pile of poop.
We are here because we believe value is being created. If it is, it will rise from the 17k+ piles of poop. If it isn’t, it will stay in the pile of poop.
Many people here keep picturing the ideal scenario (when everything works fine, people will notice → organic growth → notoriety). I’m not one of them.
I believe that without notoriety, the ideal state - ready for the masses - will never be achieved, and yet with the way the team is run, financed and focused, notoriety is unachievable.
Same with the token. Without the network being robust and stable enough not to lose any token data, no native token is possible, but without the native token, that state likely cannot be reached, because the arbitrum ant has zero sex appeal. Still I’m thrilled to see where it all goes and I do enjoy using the network a fair bit.
Maybe you are right. Or maybe Sonder is right. Or maybe the truth lies somewhere in between. I’m definitely in Sonder’s direction because I’m sure David and Bux are thinking about it deeply and seeking advice. He’s got the project thus far through thick and thin and Bux knows the Crypto space so I doubt the ball would be dropped at this late stage.
And I’m glad you’re thrilled to see where it goes and you enjoy using the network despite some scepticism of the approach of get it right and then market it.
Just to show an example of what happened with a dot com share price and how long things take:
Amazon began trading publicly on May 15, 1997, with an IPO price of $18 per share ($0.075 split-adjusted). The stock price surged during the dot-com bubble, reaching its pre-crash peak of $106.69 to $113 per share in December 1999.
Following the burst of the dot-com bubble, Amazon’s stock plummeted, losing over 90% of its value and hitting a low of around $5.51 to $8.37 per share by late 2001. The recovery began in 2002, and the company demonstrated significant resilience, with its stock price increasing by over 850% between September 2001 and October 2003. While the stock regained strong momentum during this period, it did not fully recover to its December 1999 peak price until late 2009
At the same time as following this project I’m watching and using new protocols like Nostr and seeing all the things being built on it. And I’d say at the moment this idea is the best we have so far and it uses bitcoin.
May the best, most decentralised and censorship resistant win.
Yes fk crypto currencies- they are stupid!
Refactor and strip out the sht coin and all the supplier welfare bs.
The knowledge that has been gained from the failed marketing of the past is what is needed to now know not to market something that will fail again, as felt in their bones by said learning experiences. All networks before 2.0 have been failures. I don’t see a 3.0 in the future, seeing their confidence that data will be kept. Maybe 1.0 should be renamed to 0.0. A marketing success of the only Autonomi known to the public only comes around after failing as many times as is needed (barring getting lucky and having it happen sooner).
Contrary to popular belief, people can still have agency today. Maybe just conduct oneself with importance, confidence, and enacted experience, and identifying a human will become as easy as it ever was, almost as if humans had never even existed before. To let oneself slip into easiness is giving up everything. Maybe the governments will back off when they realize the public isn’t slipping into their power games.
Anyway, back to feeling good about being an idiot and only appearing important in text.
