Seems like dividing 100% of pool among 175 participants is more tempting, than sharing 200% among a 1000

Do I understand well, that effectively Wave #1 is already closed?
That’s the beauty of it… everyone get’s more when newbies are helped on to the Network.
There may also be some cheeky spot prizes too. Everyone likes a surprise!

Ok, I probably misunderstood, that a 1000 will be included in wave1, which is probably not the case.
What was the link again I’ll rattle up some lurkers I know
Wave 1: 175 People
Wave 2: 825 People
Wave 3: 2000 People
And so on…
It’s not about the number of nodes in each wave… It’s the number of people.

Rewards are divided according to tokens earned though, which means if you run more nodes you get more tokens and more rewards, or not?

Correct… but when targets on people get hit, everyones rewards multiply.
And you are still only competing against the same number of people in your wave.
So dual incentives to maximise the capacity of the network, and the number of people participating, without hampering your chances by inviting new folk.

Plus, there may be some stragglers who signed up, and then don’t pop up a node, so some Wave 1 spots might open up… to all the more reason to get in on things

Yep, so rewards will be a function of the following, in rough order of significance:
- earlier wave (means bigger rewards pool)
- hitting recruitment targets (-> x2…x4)
- tokens earned relative to others, AKA climbing the leader board.
The last one is hardest to think about and so may not be the least significant, especially if you can run many more nodes than say 30% of the others in your pool.
It seems that we will have a big spread, with many running a small number of nodes, a small number running thousands and some inbetween.
It’s an interesting gamble for those who can run thousands whether the rewards will be worth it. If they clearly are that could hurt the number of participants by reducing rewards at the low end significantly and reducing their incentive.
I realise AJ is all over this and that it will have been thought through. Just thinking of loud really, but it may be helpful to share your expectations around this, and the reasoning. IDK.
