Emission Payout Update

:loudspeaker: Emission Payout Update :loudspeaker:
Starting tomorrow, emission payouts will be distributed at 02:30 and 14:30 GMT daily.

:pushpin: Important Change:
Only nodes running the latest version of Antnode will be eligible for payouts.

Previously, both the latest version and the version before were eligible, to further incentivize upgrades and maintain network stability, this has now changed.

Thank you - these gums were not rattled in vain…

Last 2 wasn’t bad though. Especially when the effect was minimal

But we would have needed a bit more frequent releases (especially releases that just have minor changes includes and not the badly needed large upgrades) for it to have the effect needed

Will you stop changing your profile picture @riddim :joy:

Sometimes our ideas are not evil but necessary.

There still is no stick involved… We’ve just been incentivising +rewarding right And wrong behaviour… Which doesn’t/didn’t make sense…

Just imagine training a dog with this strategy…

Edit:
(actually I did like the last 2… If we had more frequent updates… Or rewarding last version 50% of current rewards… Then rolling Updates do make sense (which don’t stress the network that much) but people have motivation to get to latest in time… Current decision to only reward latest incentivises mass shutdowns on updates… Smooth rolling upgrades are less rewarding than just nuke and restart… I’m just saying this to point it out… Maybe that’s not obvious.. A machine running 90% old nodes is slower in starting new nodes than a machine with no old nodes running.. )

This is true. It’s not stick really at all.

Anyway, excellent decision.

Sure once we have a performant main network it can be changed again. Right now we need to move faster.
