Dec 19 Stage Summary

Hi everyone,

Thank you very much to those who made the stages yesterday, and congratulations to our Pub Quiz, voucher and merchandise winners!

One of the main aspects that people wanted to understand/hear about in yesterday’s meet-up, was regarding the reward incentives for those running nodes over this next phase, please find below a rundown:

There are two types of reward incentives available to node operators ahead of TGE.

Type 1: Hosting Rewards
Generated by: Running nodes to quote and get paid by (the Maidsafe) uploaders.

These hosting rewards will equate to 1M Autonomi Network Tokens (ANT). This token amount will come out of the Autonomi Foundation’s pool at TGE.

Please note: we can’t know the exact calculations/quantities here in order to say what the exchange rate will be. This is because we will be continuously uploading data at the fair price. We cannot predict the price because we cannot predict the future size of the network. Therefore, we don’t know how many total tokens, ahead of time, we will pay. For example - if the uploaders end up paying out 2M test tokens between December 19, 2024 and TGE, then 2 test tokens would be exchanged to 1 actual token.

Type 2: Random Rewards
Generated by: Qualifying random wallets receiving a reward of tokens between January 06 - January 26 2025, from the 1M unallocated (but already minted) test tokens. Like ‘Hosting Rewards’ , this token amount will also come out of the Autonomi Foundation’s allocation at TGE, tokens received this way, will have a 1:1 exchange rate for ANT.

There are two pools for random rewards - and two types of participants:

Pool 1
20% of the Random Reward Pool (200k) - this will only be accessible to early participants (those who have been running nodes across this week and for the next 2 weeks, with their wallets receiving token at least two times during each week). Note: the list of wallets that belong to this early group will be deterministic, i.e. we will register these qualifying wallets to the smart contract on January 06, 2025.

Pool 2
80% of the Random Reward Pool (800k) will be available to any wallets receiving tokens (via hosting MaidSafe Uploader data), between January 06, and January 26, 2025. Based on feedback seen, we have adjusted our plans (this is why we like Stages!), so that the smart contract will hold a list of wallets that earned tokens during a 24 hour period - at the end of the 24 hour period, a draw function will be triggered to randomly select the receiving wallets and pay out token rewards to them. After the draw at the end of each day, the entrant list will be cleared out and the earners for the next day will start to be registered (verifiable on the blockchain).

Tokens will be distributed to 220 wallets each day, for 20 days (January 06 - January 26)

20 wallets from Pool 1
200 wallets from Pool 2

If you’re a new participant in January you will be able to be part of the ‘Hosting Rewards’ and on day’s when you receive tokens into your wallet from MaidSafe Uploaders, you will be entered into Pool 2 of the Random Rewards. If you’re an early participant and you meet the qualification criteria before January 06, 2025, then you will be able to earn ‘Hosting Rewards’ and will, upon receiving token(s) into your wallet, be entered into both Pool 1 and Pool 2 for the ‘Random Rewards’'.

Lastly, I mentioned on the Stage last night that ‘Dave’ would be with us today, but in typical Dave style he’s going to be later than hoped … the plans we have to use him kick off in the New year, (he will be a big part of testing for some of the application reward aspects we’re developing, which also attach to the DAO for token holders)

That said, I am still determined that he makes an appearance before the NY. Maybe on that day Rusty will also have a good enough excuse to do some more celebratory, holiday prize giveaways … I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Chat soon,
@Bux :christmas_tree::heartpulse:

Here is a little app to try.

ant file download 7913e84cc04e4babf1ae37c57e3dd4069d6a2d348b52330cdb10ce2c870c84c6 .

Will… err should work on linux.
It is a little gui where you can enter your addresses and it should tell you how many deposits each address received per day from a set of whitelisted address. (Maidsafes).

See help for basic instructions.

This is distressing… Should I need to set ENV_PEERS or something?

I ran it on a Hetzner instance OK but I got an error about libGL which was not entirely unexpected cos there is no GUI on that box. I ran it mostly to find out if the download actually worked.

I get a bit different error:
