Hey everybody,
I seem to have a problem. About two and a half years ago I bought some Maid. I was and still am no expert, but I liked the project so I set aside some money with the goal of keeping it there until the network is fully functional. But today when I opened my Trezor the Maid was there. I believe I used Omni. Based on the instructions on this forum I created a maid wallet in Trezor app. Currently there is still a separate Bitcoin account under Legacy Segwit accounts, but instead of the maid there is only 540 sat. I remember seeing the maid appear when I transfered it. Hadnt checked it since. The transactions is documented in Bittrex transaction log (the maid amount) on the same day I withdrew Maid from Bittrex, but it shows the 540 sat in trezor. It wasn’t exorbitant amount, but it was lot more than that. Is there a way to recover it? There is an option to update firmware on my trezor, but I didn’t want to make an irreversible mistake.
It is not fully supported by native Trezor app, so you see some strange value of satoshi instead.
You can sleep well and wait for MAID-SNT
Please check :
Thera are all instruction for holding/moving MAID.
Not really relevant to this is it, that was long ago.
Kyc is here to stay, a business cant argue and offer legal sevices in some countries.
Ok, i was wrong, but still, i dont believe theyre wiping anyones wallets with coin in.
"No deadline has currently been set for customers to withdraw funds, but we strongly recommend that you complete this as quickly as possible, as a withdrawal deadline may be set by the liquidators at some point in the future. "
No, you are OK unless you want to trade. Then you have several options:
HitBTC for OMNI MAID - extremely NOT recommended, today there was a complaint on Telegram that they blocked someone’s account there when he tried to withdraw his MAID.
Hi there. I just saw this. Bittrex messaged me at the time that I had no funds. I remember sending all to my OMNI wallet, and just checked and coins are there. My goal is to exchange for the true coin when network released. What is safer? Keep coins in OMNI wallet or an exchange? Sadly, eMAID is not available in Kraken, which is my main trading platform.
So looks like your private key is there so you can send your coins out from that wallet.
So as long as your wallet password and 2FA is not compromised your coins are safe there.
If you wanted to be even more secure you could make a cold storage paper wallet which is described in @Dimitar post
Or you could get a Trezor and make a legacy account for bit coin using an address that begins with 3 on only as there have been issues with wallets begining with 1 and addresses begining with bc are not supported and will lose your coins.
The paper wallet and trezor method keep your private key offline which means it’s more secure.
Unfortunately I could not get hold of one of my friends until this month.
I am glad I downloaded immediately as the “available to download” part is not applied to all coins.
It looks like Bittrex is in the process of converting their MAID to Ethereum and a processing fee will be taken. Bittrex are doing this for all not major coins.
My friends Bitcoin holdings are untouched.
It will be interesting to see what MAID->ETH rate they get. I’ll let you all know.
I’ll make sure they get their original amount of MAIDs in omni or eMAID ( this is still new to me though).
I don’t have a contact at bittrex, the friend I refer to is person who I got to invest in MAID a while back.
I spent tonight remote desking on to their machine looking at the state of things in their bittrext account.
I was expecting to see a MAID balance instead we saw a note saying their MAIDS are being converted to ETH. I just could not get hold of them since this whole thing started.
When I say I’ll make sure they get their original maid, ill be giving them a fair price for their ETH and giving them omni from my stash and topping them up to their original amount if needed.
Don’t know how I gave the impression I know someone at Bittrex. Sorry about that.
