Sorry for miss reading it I skimmed and 2×2 became 6
So we can expect a stalled mkt for a while if theyre liquidising millions of maid i guess, i doubt theyd wreck the mkt price but well see.
So will that drive the price of MAID down if Bittrex is selling their stash? It might be a good time to buy if there is a lot of forced liquidation. It will be very entertaining to try to time the bottom of the price. Liquidating that much MAID could take weeks. That might also explain why trading volumes are going up.
looks like bittrex has not begun liquidating the omni maid to ETH yet as the wallet still has just over 7,000,000 maid in it
“By 30th Jan” is when the note on my friends account said they would get their ETH.
Good to know if they dump that lot I’ll happily buy maid at 1 cent per maid
I wonder if they have an OTC deal set up… how are they planning to liquidate 7m MAID in 3 weeks?
Would be good to know what their plan is, though I doubt they’d be responsive to enquiries?
and at what price? they might consider the close of business for Bittrex on Dec 4 there liquidation price for maid not the current market price on uni swap or BitMark for emaid.
If they’d offer last traded price at Bittrex, which I seem to remember being under $0.10, I expect they’d find a buyer.
i see southside is typing looks like we may be forming a consortium for a buy out lol
I expect they’d find a queue of buyers.
Mrs Southside is now bewildered as to why I have suddenly gone off the idea of a wee break in Budapest - I have other things to do with that money. But don’t tell her FFS.
unless Bittrex has an office in Budapest id say that’s not a good use of recourses
You are forgetting there is a sausage festival in Budapest at the end of the month…
just come to the west end there is plenty sausage’s that are to scared to come down the southside. charity starts at home lol
not that kind of sausage festival, @JimCollinson
What are the chances of them writing a note specific to maid saying that a omni token is going to be converted to eth.
Versus
A standard message (due to the vast majority of tokens being erc20) being displayed system wide.
My bets have been crap lately but I am going with those 7 million are not actually going to be converted to eth.
When that balance changes from 7 million to eth by the 30th I will retire from my betting career with a hat trick!!
Is that saying to ERC20 eMAID, or just selling MAID and returning ETH to each customer
Selling for ETH.
Many ‘altcoins’ like ours will be sold for ETH.
Well known coins like BTC remain in their original form in the bittrex wallet for withdrawal.
I logged in to my Bittrex account and tried to find some information on this. I found nothing, but then again, I don’t have any MAID there anymore. Exchanging customers funds to another cryptocurrency sounds very dubious to me, if not outright illegal. But cryptoland is cryptoland, so I guess anything can happen.
Could you @Zoki provide us a copy-paste, or a screenshot from that note of conversion? And / or something else to prove the source of this information? To be clear, I’m not suspecting you about anything, I just wonder if there is some sort of misunderstanding.
All I could find about the situation was these:
How can I withdraw cryptocurrency?
For cryptocurrency remaining in a customer’s account, a wallet will need to be established that supports the specific crypto assets. Options include, but are not limited to, setting up an account at another cryptocurrency exchange and/or establishing a hardware or software wallet. If balances of cryptocurrency do not meet the minimum withdrawal size (i.e., are less than the network transaction fees to transmit the cryptocurrency off the Bittrex Global platform), and you are unable to trade out of these positions prior to the trading deadline, we will be unable to process these withdrawals.
How can I withdraw USD?
As explained in our message on 20 November 2023, customers of Bittrex Global are not able to directly withdraw USD holdings, and need to convert this into either EUR or crypto in order to be able to withdraw the associated funds. We understand that this is frustrating, and we have been working hard to provide a solution that allows all customers to withdraw funds, even after trading is suspended on 4 December. We are pleased to announce that, as of 4 December, all remaining USD holdings will be converted 1:1 into a stablecoin (USDT), and available for withdrawal in the usual way, subject to the Terms of Service and applicable law. Bittrex Global will cover all fees associated with the conversion.
I’m meeting this person again tonight. I’ll get a screen shot.
