Interesting. Hoping this goes in favor of Coinbase - would be a boon for all of crypto.
Looks an awful lot like Twitter. Can’t imagine a clone by Meta is going to win the war.
Twitter has been severely damaged financially, is broken technically and in a downward spiral. Threads just has to work atm.
Meanwhile Mastodon / fedi continues to give the best experience of all, for free, no ads, no data harvesting, no algo - just the toots from people you chose to follow, and hashtags you follow.

France has lost its way…
privacy #abcs
They already do this only difference now is they can use the evidence in court.
Just because they can/do does not suggest it’s right or justified. There is a risk the apathy is mistaken as go ahead.
… •because statements of the bleeding obvious are needed while rationalists promote and idiocracy…
… those who do whatever they want occasional do get a challenge…
Majority of people really don’t care and don’t see it as a problem “if you’ve got nothing to hide blah blah blah”. The systems we have in place now there is no escaping this, hopefully a new system will emerge that puts a stop to these vultures even if only for people who want some real privacy
…is not a measure… just as well we don’t live in a democracy or we’d suffer that difference
Looks like twitter is working to me and user base is increasing.
Any alternative that takes over had to be a more decentralised one like Nostra or Dorseys Bluesky. Going to a facebook version is the worst move with all their censorship and data mining.
I guess it depends what you seek whether Twitter has improved or worsened. I no longer use it because it ceased being of any use to me, and what I hear is that things have got worse for relevance and quality of discussion, and for many in other ways.
Here’s an up to date sample (below).
It again confirms what I’ve been saying for some time about the difference between Mastodon and Twitter, and why it is important for Safe Network to have a decent presence on Mastodon. The are a handful of us there but the only accounts sharing about Safe Network so far are my own, JPL and an official SN account which posts the updates.
The project could do with more folk there, and it’s a great place to be. Much more community feel, better informed, lots of good accounts from specialists to ordinary folk, massive FOSS and privacy enthusiasts and also very diverse etc.

I personally see a lot of content that has been heavily censored in recent years being allowed to be posted on twitter. To me that is a very valuable development for a major platform like twitter. A good counter to the censorship on facebook and youtube.
Well its in the Guardian so any relation this article has to the actual truth is dubious at best.
Anyway what emasculated tosser buys a 5litre Mustang and then lets someone else drive it?
A neighbour has one and took me for a ride in it last month. It was difficult to seem impressed to be honest. But I did try and think I got away with it. For a 5litre fastback, it looks the part(well kinda) , goes OK in a straight line but its fat and flabby, handles like a wheelbarrow made of jelly and sells mainly to 55+ demographic but WT actual F?
I know I have just described me in the paragraph above but of all the models in the Ford lineup to choose from, they chose the Mustang to debut this feature on ?!?!!?!!?
Not to derail the test thread any further here is a read on ‘code interpreter’ which I mentioned there.
