Detailed discussion on Argentina’s economy & government as well as Anarcho-Capitalism versus Socialism and a lot of personal details & feelings of Javier Milei.

Well worth the 2hr listen.

As the Argentinian economy continues to radically improve raising the living standards for the people, what counter do the socialist money printers have?

If only Milei wouldn’t embrace the dollar and instead would remonetize silver. He must know it’s the vastly better choice. I wish I could have asked him that question.

I think to have a chance (S.America nations) of ever getting back to a silver standard it would take the United States population to demand a return to constitutional money first imo

For a single country to go it alone and break away from the fiat dollar empire would be a big deal with massive geopolitical disruption if other neighbouring nations were to also start dumping debt and buying metal. Strangers things have happened though,so will be interesting to watch. Mexico is a candidate for re-monetising silver too, they have had votes in their parliament in recent years.

What does a legitimate argument look like in your world?

How about using facts instead of casting aspersions?

Don’t know about the rest of you, but this sh!t worries me a lot. Already they’ve incorporated AI into drones and they are using those in Ukraine. The Israeli’s are using drones with machine guns mounted on them and are flying around killing random Palestinians … won’t be long before they start using them to deliver targeted neuro-toxin.

We need countermeasures here folks. A shotgun will get a few, but not at the scales these can and are being mass produced.

Awesome.

Yes, those criminal, socialist UN types - they do terrible things all over the planet . .

There are good people in most all organizations. They’ve been raised well, but then get sucked into the socialist systems created to enslave humanity. And of course even the evil socialists push things that are good some of the time if not most of the time - all to give the illusion that their system is “good”. This keeps the pawns from rising up and taking away their horribly rapacious system.

Periodically though the oligarch bankster’s ponzi has to collapse (be reset), so they create wars to ship off all the youngsters, engineer famines, and invent poisons to wipe out the rebellious members of the population.

What most of you pro-socialist people fail to realize is that the banksters are the ones who drive the whole game. They fund those that initiate revolutions and afterwards they run their banking systems.

Inflation of the money supply is a transfer of wealth - it’s enslavement.

This is why we can’t have nice things, they take and take and take. Every fiat token they print takes it’s value out of your wallet whether you know it or not and take at least 50% (over the course of one’s life) of everyone’s wealth not including taxes leaving each of us with scraps.

It’s been Human ingenuity and some degree of capitalism that has allowed us to survive - but only as cockroaches at the feet of the banksters.

The banksters are the wealthiest on Earth -by far. We don’t know their exact wealth as they use trusts to hide it. If they own stock they do it through trusts as well. This way people are kept in the dark.

I think socialism is really not understood as the same thing in the USA and elsewhere. It seems any threat to perceived capitalism is socialism.

So all the isms are really boxes to put folk in or they do so themselves, but the worlds much bigger and more complex that any of these isms will address.

I think as a race we should care for everyone and ensure humans are not dying for lack of basic resources. That is my bottom line. However, humans are just terrible at certain things.

Take jobs and work ethic. A massive part of our problems are people not doing their job and even worse, not being able to be held accountable. That shows in publicly run organisations where the workers can (and do) say “so what”, Bad service “so what”, people dying due to carelessness or (more often) not caring, “so what”.

The above is where many say socialism or nationalisation or public sector is the problem and I tend to agree, they do have a problem. Then look at large corporate capitalist companies, say Google, where we have folk proud of earning $500K and working 2 hours per month. They don’t care, they are part of the “so what” group too.

So the socialist perceived ism has issues
The capitalist ism has issues.

Then capitalism fails when the intrinsic value of something is not measurable (like education) or where there is a quick buck to be made (food and Pharma industries).

To me it feels like large organisations are actually our issue, but double edge sword as large cash rich companies tend to innovate (inc param/google etc.)

In this last year I have been through the NHS, what I thought was the love of my life, the shining star in a confused world. I can say it’s far far from a caring organisation now, and I feel it’s in a dire place that money cannot fix, but the same issue as a severe lack of accountability exists and shows in the “so what” attitude.

I think the coming AI/Robotics revolution will have a huge impact though, on many of these things and the ism debates will have to change as the world won’t be a battle for power of an ism, it will be very different.

So am I am socialist (sometimes) or capitalist (sometimes), but I am aware of the issues we have a society when, regardless how we measure things the measure of value is about to be upended. I also think the free market is the best measure of the value of measurable goods and services, but also the place the $ beats the heath or wellbeing of humans in many ways.

@dirvine ,

The bottom line is:

  • When we spend US$2T a year on arms and wars
  • When the World’s Sixth Mass Extinction is almost certainly unstoppable

the species has f***ed up majorly and is very unlikely to survive - peak diesel (upon which EVERYTHING else depends) has been reached and no amount of AI and energy alternatives is going to fix that problem . . we are doomed . . I was hoping SAFE would help a bit but now it is likely too little and much too late . .
