Very nice update this week team. Seems a lot of solid improvements are here or coming soon.
Thanks to all for working so hard. Bit by bit itās coming together to be the network weāve all hoped for.
Cheers
Ubuntu 24. Iāll try to remember to check tonight.
Steady progress across the board. Great work Autonomi team!
Are there any plans to offer user viewable data on the Beta, or usable apps that interact even in a small way with the network / data on it? Even just hosting a few videos that explain what Autonomi is that people can view in a browser via proxies as a proof of concept?
Itās fantastic that the Beta network has remained pretty stable since starting even with all the updates etcā¦ but Iām really looking forward to seeing it become tangible from the perspective of a user.
Yeah like some video explaining how your typical video comes from server, and how this one is different.
Is the way I phrase/ask my questions rude? Are they just plain stupid? Did I call someoneās mom a hoe without remembering?
If any of the above apply, I sincerely apologize, I canāt remember the last time I asked a question and got a answer.
I think you are aware of awe
but just in case, you can do this now (and you can also publish data on the network using it - so others can view what you publish). The network is not reliable yet, and anyway it is only a demo app, so not great UX. But it will get there as the fixes fall into place and the network becomes reliable.
I havenāt made a big song and dance announcement because of the remaining issues, but a few people have used it to view websites and two have published sites, in addition to myself.
More about 'awe` on this topic: Website builders - an invitation - #63 by aatonnomicc and the Linux build can be downloaded from https://downloads.happybeing.com (See also awe documentation).
Could it be that the team is doing the testing in linux. And if the windows version compile without any error it is considered passed all checks for shipping?
Itās just that we all have less time to engage at the moment. Thatās not intentional, there just isnāt much time left in the day when you need to work on everything weāre trying to deliver.
Iāll try and get you an answer to the questions.
Slight pile on Chris, sorryā¦ can you ask if the node health metric will be in the log files, or ask whoever is doing it to consider adding it. At the same time, if it is output periodically, could log messages for relevant records be output more frequently, rather than only when creating a quote.
Both would help people using vdash to monitor nodes.
Maybe the community could make this Q&A more efficient. Perhaps someone here collects together a set of questions rather than a team member having to read the forum and pick things up. That or clone @rusty.spork who does this on Discord, but also has his hand full atm.
Weāre all a bit reluctant to ping you guys.
Iād rather not volunteer myself as Iām also very busy, but if it would help maybe someone would be willing to do this.
This is really a great job, big applause for the team!
This is great news, although at my place Launchpad has not worked all the time so far, but now maybe I can get some information about the lack of earnings by my nodes. Do you need to download a new version of Launchpad?
No Safe, no wave.
It isnāt done yet.
Sure, will do.
Yeah, I think that would be useful. I do check the forum at least once a day as part of my daily planning exercise, but, I donāt always see everything.
Could you suggest this and if it passes, maybe use a dev update to ask if anyone is willing. Maybe a different person each week. Iād step up for that once in a while and I think others would too.
Thanks Chris, appreciated.
Iāll stick my hand up for that for the first week anyway
DM me any Qs for the devs with first line Qs for devs
Iāll collate them and twice daily send a summary to @chriso
Lets see how that works ā¦
That would be great
Or maybe a public topic would be better.
Yeah, that sounds fine. Although, just bear in mind, the list has to be some reasonable size. You could keep a backlog, but maybe only submit a few questions each week.
I think a good place to answer them would be on these updates, if @JPL agreed with that.
Maybe we just have to ask in the update topic?
This could be mentioned in each update.
Then someone forwards the questions and posts the answers to the topic tagging the questioner.
Yeah, I was actually thinking along those lines myself. However, donāt mind exactly how you do it.
