Test thread

Welcome one and all and @Southside

our very own OG who we never knew about @ambled who has been lurking since 2014 has put time and effort into creating a faucet for newcomers to try an upload.

as we have a supper whale gobbling all the rewards id like to invite the community members to donate some nodes if they can to the following address.

0x270A246bcdD03A4A70dc81C330586882a6ceDF8f

i have just pointed all my nodes at the faucet but the one thing we would realy love is an anonymous donation of arbitrum eth.

lets show the supper whale and our founder @dirvine what this community is made of by helping newcomers try an upload for free

url for the faucet is:

Faucet

@ambled over to you in the discord

just a note people my nodes will take time to earn ant and we need that anonymous donation of arbitrum eth to make this work as this is a fresh address.

I seeded the faucet with plenty ETH and a few ANT but when I tried a test withdrawal I got this

I’ll check

I think the faucet is actually working OK as a faucet but the web frontend is rubber ducked

It will send 0.00005 ETH but no ANT

its in infancy and thanks to a few donations is now funded @ambled when time per mits will update but if it works let us know

i think you got the first transaction bug (a new wallet had a nonce of 0).

if you try again it should work this time.

Thanks for setting this up @ambled

Still getting the server error after hitting “submit” but it IS dispensing 0.0005 ETH

This is perfect. I’ll need some Arbitrum One Eth soon for testing something I’m building and will share (free & open source) on the forum. Thank you.

I enter my account address and it says “value provided is not a valid wallet”.

0xb4b6125a33c882dd352ca76f7078bd978560b684 is what I enter. Is that not correct?

Its a valid address

check for spaces before or after the string - that often screws things up

Just checked, no spaces before/after/within.

Are you checking in this input box?

it checking for the mixed case wallet address to do a checksum

I’m at work and will see what’s going on in a couple hours

Ah, because I’m pasting in the lowercase variant? (just ran into this in my Eth smart contract crash course I’ve been on for this thing I’m building lol)

That was the problem. Now the page outputs:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application.

i for a short minute had a metamask integration but the wallet addresses returned in the browser are all lowercase so i had to rip that out for now

Yea that’s very ‘great’ of MetaMask.
