But thanks to everyone who is sending in donations l can see a few already

Minute feedback, I’d make the text input wide enough to show the entire address to help with both correct input as well as debug screenshots.

I’ll figure that out tonight

If folks are really stuck for Arbitrum ETH then they can always bridge if they have actual Ethereum ETH.

I’m new to all this. What does a faucet do? Also, is the “super whale” the reason I’m not getting any attos on my nodes?
Thanks for any clarifications on this
Eric

The dapp faucet issues ANT and ETH tokens to allow people to test the network features.

It’s a one time drip of tokens that we aimed to allow 3-4 attempts since some uploads don’t go through.

I believe the transactions are committing really fast on mainnet vs arbitrum.

I moved the ANT drip first so we don’t waste ETH on failed ANT drips, but I also confirm each transaction separately now and that seems to have fixed the issue.

I’ll work on this on the dev server to catch the nonce error so we get a better message and not a face palm.

Ok, we’ll get an error message instead of a blown up page IF there are other issues, but I had to take the 1st confirmation out to test regenerating the error.

This is a great initiative, thanks a lot @ambled, and all involved!

May I propose, that after these hickups are sorted, we delete this thread, and start a new one? It’s a bit long way to navigate for someone, who might just want to use the faucet.

Ok, I’ve even solved the issues with the Metamask integration. I think we’re ready to rock.

You guys start a new thread and then flag the OP of this thread with “something else” and ask the mods to close this thread. Do that when you are ready

Oh, I guess one more thing to validate.

My ‘rough’ guess as to how much ANT to drip went something like this:

24MB/4MB=6 chunks
( 6 chunks * 3 copies ) + 3 public address chunks = 21 chunks/attempt
21 chunks * 4 attempts = 84 chunks

While MOST of my uploads cost around .00000000187 ANT
SOME of my chunks have cost 0.00000000559 ANT

So worst case is: 0.00000046956 ANT and
my best case is: 0.00000015708 ANT and
the faucet is set: 0.0000002 ANT

Lower? Higher?

7 chunks last time I divided 28 by 4
Also 28MB may slip into another chunk
Then the datamap if public

Thus expect 8 chunks if on the right side of 28MB
and 24 chunks uploaded on an attempt

yeah i fixed my typo just before you posted, lol.

I’m hearing you on the chunk count though.

I’m thinking we accumulate feedback for a day to keep this chatter out of the new post, then set the drips correctly.

Renamed this topic, appending “(testing)”.

Is mixed case supported as a byproduct or is that still unresolved?

Can I suggest in future if its a topic started by a seasoned member of the forum that it is for them to decide. Sometimes its not what they wanted.

Of course @aatonnomicc can change it if he doesn’t want it done so no lasting harm done
