SAFE Network Logo Competition - Final Designs

Not bad, but my personal favorite will always be the blue lock with a person in it

Everything else just looks way too similar to every other project in this space right now.

Only the person in the lock is very simple, obviously means protection (not imprisonment) from the big word “SAFE” right next to it, and truly creates a unique, memorable theme for the SAFE Network instead of copying the look/ feel of the other decentralized projects that exist.

But you’re the boss! not me

Yes I agree that number 6 is a very good choice

But it would be best if we had many good options to vote on, so we should all try to figure out if there are ways we could improve the logos that have been submitted

Not a huge fan of the second font, but 605 is cool.

Is there anway, the community can vote on this things and somehow collate comments without having to register on 99designs.

Design #6 simple, clean, safe. Doesn’t really say anything about the network as such and it’s kind of lacking the tech theme. This could be a lock company for all I know.

Design #7 struggling to understand what this even is, is it a kettle? My least favourite.

Design #15 my favourite of the last lot. I love the 3 dimensional aspect of it, it looks rock solid too. Looks futuristic, looks techy A+

Design #110 Meh~

Design #235 I like this one too.

Design #268 I am not sure if I like this one. I think I do, maybe its just the color. I don’t like the black, I think we need to do all we can to keep a positive, friendly, peaceful and SAFE idea of the network and black does not do this for me.

I agree—good point. FCT’s logo has always stood out to me as particularly strong, but … it’s very close to ATT’s, for instance. I think it’s just a question of how close is a design to that line, and when is it crossed.

After the second round ends there will be a vote on the forum where all trust level 2 forum members can vote for the logo they like best.

I posted something in lounge (tier 2 forums) . I might well post it in here. I don’t have time to be honest. I really want to help out but… “copy n paste incoming…”

This is something I brew up within 10 minutes frame. I didn’t even try…

It has hexagon for bee like system. Plus hexagon is a great solution
to build blocks around it to enhance security. It provides square within
the hexagon for data chucks. Thus, it looks like a house, with open
arms.

I could easily make this much better but I’m just showing you that
every design out there is crap. They don’t understand the system, and
therefore more prone to make genetic designs.

To carry on @BambooGarden’s proposal in the other thread. I like optical illusions because they demonstrate something instantly: the reality of the image is indisputably there, but the brain does not know what to make of it.

And it will be the same for Safe: my data is here whenever I need it, and yet I cannot comprehend what the autonomous network does to keep it safe, nor to reconstruct it from shattered pieces. But that’s ok, because privacy and security should be a “mindless” task, not something that each and everyone has to be wary of when interacting with a computer.

So… an hexagon + an impossible cube :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I also really like the proposal of @dyamanaka; maybe a play with perspective could make it the logo that will unite the community.

nice work there! did you find it or did you make it? this could easily get my vote

Thank you ^^
I took it from here, then changed colors. I am not skilled in vector drawing to participate in the competition. It was more to give an idea to the community, and hypothetically then ask a real designer to improve upon it.

in a way the network design, from above looks like matchstick men holding hands and standing together. Perhaps we should ask the designer to accentuate on this aspect? ie to show humanity coming together which is what a network is really about. If you cant see it, take a look at this artwork design and perhaps the designer can improve on it as an idea? Anyway this is just a thought from a long time forum lurker

+1 for optical illusions. And this two-toned hexigon is a great extension on MaidSafe’s penrose triangle.

Can someone remind me why the penrose is off the table? It was purchase but is not owned?

The sideways S with lock (6th one) seemed the best to me in terms of uniqueness, albeit maybe not in best interest regarding all the tenets required. But it makes me see the project as really seriously involved with keeping data secured. I don’t know; I can’t stop staring at it. But it does get a little freaky looking at it, as if it’s staring back at me. Anyway, I see 110 as a really simple logo used for a phone. And 235 looks like it could serve that purpose just as well, along with every other purpose. So I guess that one gets my vote.

I liked the first one. But that might be because it’s the first I saw, while having a clever illusion to it. Unfortunately it really makes me think of someone locked up, or “keeping a person safe from themselves.” (Though really everyone kind of needs that, to be completely truthful. But it still kills “free will,” and there are many points of a person that should remain under their sole/soul control, to make them feel a part of themselves. More random ruminations: people are “shackled” by the Earth, but we need it to enjoy everything that’s possible on the Earth and not float off into space—just like we need to be “secured” by the global autonomous networking system of SAFE and not float our data off into advertisement/greed that isn’t in our interest. But I’m just going to end this parenthetical now and go to sleep.)

The blue shading on that optical illusion looks off a bit. The original orange one on dribbble has a much better shading balance.

Are you talking about the logo of the forum? If yes, see my answer here.

We don’t own it, we just have a license (actually I don’t even have it myself, it’s David Hedqvist who has it). If other people want to use this image, they have to buy their own license. The license we have makes it clear that we can’t use it as a logo.
