Thanks for more clarification
.
MaidSafe, Altcoinomy and Stakehound have collaborated to ensure that eMAID will be redeemable 1:1 for Safe Network Tokens. To ensure that the supply of MAID does not increase, Omni MAID are burnt in order to mint eMAID. Once the beta test has been completed, the official announcement will be made.
Some useful links for keeping track of this on the public ledgers:
Total omni maidsafecoin burned:
https://www.omniexplorer.info/address/1LastStepBurnMaidToEMaidXXXXUJ9ChK
Total erc20 emaid created:
https://etherscan.io/token/0x329c6E459FFa7475718838145e5e85802Db2a303#balances
These two numbers should match, or possibly more omni maid burned than erc20 minted if there’s a delay in the minting process.
If anyone ever sees more emaid minted than burned omni it would be worth pointing out (this is never expected to happen).
Thats only for eMAID, nothing about the exchange to SNT
I thought that people were supposed to be able to convert back to Omni MAID if they wanted.
So you are forcing Maidsafe to implement eMAID to SNT.
Are you also forcing people to convert to eMAID in order to do the exchange to SNT?
From my understanding of things so far eMaid will be exchangable 1:1 SNT
The same as Omni Maid 1:1 SNT
and no one forced to do anything.
Conversion is voluntary. Both omni and emaid can be exchanged for SNT.
As only one of the testers I dont know all the details but Maidsafe are involved in the process and Soton is not forcing anyone into anything.
Clearly people need to hear the details from the horses mouth but it has not launched yet.
No one is forcing MaidSafe or anyone to do anything. This has been a collaborative process for over a year. The best way to ensure that there’s no funny business that could increase the supply of MAID was to leverage a one way burn. MaidSafe will equally recognize both Omni MAID and eMAID when it comes time to switch to SNT. This means that those who don’t want to convert to eMAID don’t have to switch.
An FAQ speaking to all these things will be released when we move from beta to full launch. However, keep the questions coming! ![]()
Great work Sotros. Be interesting to if this reignites a bit of interest in the project
I’ve added the eMAID contract address to my metamask wallet.

At some point it will have eMAID.
Is there a logo on the way?
Thank you for answering the questions.
I am a little upset that the one way transfer was not announced when it was determined that it was the only way to go since some/many (not sure how many) were under the impression till now that it was still the 2 way exchange it was promised to be when starting off. It was afterall one of the features that people wanted in order to support the move to eMAID. It was very much a shock to find out it was one way and why the questions of forcing hands.
I understand things change and understand now the reasons for this change. But to not inform us when you knew was a mistake in my opinion as many were under the misapprehension. Telling us would mean these questions would never arise and ensure you still had the support of everyone who wanted this.
Not sure why you are upset?
None of us are here for omni maid or erc.20 maid
We are hear for SNT when the network launches
Why doses it matter that you can’t get Omni Maid back once you burned it?
Read it again.
Well it was important to some people when the initial discussions were happening before it went into development. I can understand it did not affect you but please do not speak for everyone in such sweeping statement.
To be clear I am not upset it is one way now, but being told when it was known would have been the right thing to do so that those who were expecting 2 way could have their expectations updated
Sorry you were only a little upset not completely up set ![]()
I’m not trying to pick a fight but my sweeping statement remains true for every one here no one including you is here for omni maid or erc.20 maid. We are all here for the real SNT when the network launches.
And if you really really want to convert erc.20 maid to omni maid couldn’t you sell erc.20 maid on an exchange when it’s listed for btc then just go buy omni maid on bitrex for btc?
Problem solved ![]()
Bittrex is likely to be involved in the exchange at some point and there will be no place to trade the omni tokens.
Privacy. Security. Freedom
That’s a bit of an eye opener so trading will only beavailable in eMaid in the future.
If that’s the case people are now being forced (in a way) to convert if they want to cash out before SNT are available.
Look at the liquidity in Bittrex. Most people are locked up unless they want to eat a huge loss or take months to sell. ERC20 is a chance to bring fresh liquidity to the project…
Privacy. Security. Freedom
I’d like to think most maid are locked up by choice
. I guess time will tell if the eMaid creates the liquidity some people are craving.
You obviously misread my stuff or trying to nullify it. I’ll assume you misread it.
May win points but its not correct since that is not what I was talking about but what I quoted from you. This is the statement in the context of everyone you set previously
Some wanted to have 2 way exchange. And bittrex is not a solution as some/many do not find that a suitable solution and thus the reason some wanted to buy eMAID and swap back to Omni.MAID.
This is just one reason you cannot speak for everyone. Please that should be self evident you cannot. Your response shows you should not.
Of course its a moot issue since its not technically possible.
Only if they want to trade and cash out, but at this time bittrex is still one way and that other exchange is another. We are not at that point yet where noone can use an exchange for omni maid The exchange to SNT will not require an exchange if it can be helped. The snapshot method solved that.
