Yes, we have continuous delivery all working now. So expect a load of these in quick succession. Hope you will see some test fixes/additions very soon.

I love it when they add the release notes, feels like the project crates are maturing.

So now we have client, node and routing about stable. What is still missing? API, qp2p, browser?

Just release the linux version and leave the toy-town OSes behind

Just to be absolutely clear, does this mean not this thursday?

I think I agree with @Southside. Of course it’s important to support Windowses, Androids, Iphones and whatnot. But wouldn’t it make sense to focus on one solid (Linux) platform to start with, while still keeping in mind that other platforms will have to follow eventually?

Maybe we should run a poll to see how many people with Windows will be excluded from the test if it’s only for Linux?

I don’t think it should be a popularity contest. We know more people run Windows at home than they do Linux. But, while not being a developer myself, I believe Linux is technically superior, and could therefore be used as a first base.

To make the testnet as valuable as possible I think it’s important to solve as many bugs as possible. I would go so far as to say it’s important to solve all known bugs, but that might be naive.

If not release today nor next week there is Christmas Eve in 2 weeks

I’m not talking about this specific test net, but development strategy in general. But I do want to stress the fact that I am not a developer myself, and I may be wrong.

Hopefully that is not an option for the team. xD
I’d rather see a delay than Christmas eve release, they gotta have time off.

I don’t think it’d be necessary to wait for a weekly update to release it. It could just be released when it’s done as far as I’m concerned.

I see this as applying to any feature release. If the release for a supported platform needs to be delayed, I think the entire release should be delayed. This is just my opinion of course.

There’s also the worry of alienating many people who are following the project by indicating they are less important.

I’m running a Windows box and I would be pretty disappointed if I couldn’t participate in the test net. Like you, I also think Linux is a better OS and have been wanting to switch for the better part of the last 10 years, but I need Windows in my line of work. Have dual booted in the past and don’t like doing that.

Soon the Linux laptop I ordered for personal projects will arrive however!
