I wanted to know if anyone can help me in finding what caused my reward balance becoming zero after resetting the node. Here is the screenshot of logs:
In the logs, we can see
total_rewards_wallet_balance: 4949906733370598
It also says: Previously assigned data will be used
The node_registry.json file created during reset has reward balance of zero as of now which is what is being used post reset i guess.
I am unclear what is happening here.
Highly appreciate if you can help me
For the context: i am running launchpad as root, the binary i am using is from source cargo build ... Before i hit reset, i merged latest code and ran cargo build ... again
Thanks, i got it now. Shall i expect that node launchpad shows me rewards earned from the real network? But in reality my balance would be rewards earned during beta + earned from live network?
AIUI, node-launchpad will show the increase in the wallet balance from launchpad startup until the present time. Its a delta, not an absolute figure.
Also your earnings on test network ( Arbitrum Sepolia chain) will only show up if you have DM’d @Atomic654 on Discord and confirmed your Discord name and desired payout wallet
Ethereum mainet, ERC20, Aritrum Sepolia, ANTs, attos, nanos. Ugh. Can anyone write an easy to understand summary as to what all these networks/tokens are because for all the brilliance that Autonomi is, for a newcomer this is all gobbledygook. Understanding bitcoin and blockchains is one thing but understanding etherium tokens a whole other level of complexity. And yet without understanding this Joe Blogs can’t really use autonomi , or at the very least feel like he really shouldn’'t. Setting up a metamask wallet requires following a complex list of ugly cut and paste procedures that Joe can follow but does not understand. Few will have idea whats going on there. Thats fine for most software - we don’t have to know how software works to use it, but this is money we are talking about. People want and need to understand before they use it. Are we expecting Joe Blogs to do a deep dive into all these concepts before they can use this network? I have. I code too. And I still don’t understand a lot of it. This is why we need the native token ASAP. I want to share resources in equal measure to the resources I put in. not tokens. Just using an exchange (regardless of whethrer you understand the ins and outs of ethereum tokenisation) is a tediously complex, risky, worrysome and bothersome effort. I really hope we get the native token soon before everyone dies trying to use unisawp to upload their cat videos.
You have my sympathy, it took me years to get my head round it and that was only with a LOT of help from @Dimitar
The best advice I can give - and I know its not great - is to set aside a small budget of ETH and be prepared to lose it as you try small test transactions. I know in many cases the cost of these transactions could be more than their actual value - thats just the way it is. Valuable knowledge and experience cannot always come cheap.
Start with a budget of say $20 worth of ETH and try bridging some of that to ETH on Arbitrum.
So you need to know how to do the bridging/Uniswap dance. And once you succeed, write down the process and get your head round it properly.
Don’t be scared to shout for help.
Understandable but there are very good reasons why that is an absolute minimum of 12-18 months down the line, quite likely longer.
I think this just underscores that the network is not quite ready for prime time for non-crypto types. If you browse the forum there is a lot of great info. Youtube also has a ton of how-to resorces. I agree there is at least a few hours of focused research, learning, and practice to get minimally proficient in the ETH world relative to BTC. An app that integrates a wallet, running a node, and managing up/downloads could hide the vast majority of the ETH messines. Thats something that will likely be available much sooner than a native token.
Yes, Launchpad only shows a portion of the earnings since it started the last time. IE only for that session, it uses the node’s reporting of earnings.
This also now means (until its fixed or removed) that the earnings are not accurate. Nodes can only show some of their earnings since they are not told about all of them.
Each time launchpad or nodes are started they only show some of the earnings for that run.
The fixes/removal are not urgent and thus will be done when the team get get to do it. Its not urgent since the blockchain can be explored and the true earnings be shown.
If any doubt about how much has been earned go to arbiscan.io and paste in the address for the wallet you want to check.
This is the definitive source.
