Most wanted APP for the SAFE Network

Glad to see this awesome thread reach 200 posts

And another app idea of mine is something that lets me listen to the new up and coming nobody rappers or musicians in my local area, so they can get SafeCoin / moral support from their local areas and I can see what’s up locally  (I think I just said local too much right there)

So basically a port of last.fm with a geographical area modifier?

Lol maybe, idk what last.fm is

Condorcet method of voting would help.

Voice over IP / Skype… but without eavesdroppers on the line!

I think a truly anonymous Skype would be an awesome app. Needs to be done!

What about a SAFE data hub, where connected data is stored and organised in a meaningful way?

Data could be retrieved from and pushed to private or public repositories which could also be cloned/merged etc. This massive data source could be accessed via an api of sorts.

Contributors to the data hub (those with public repositories) would be paid in safecoin based on their repository’s usefulness.

How is this different from a search engine for public shares?

I once worked for an insurance company that didn’t want any customer information on non-centralized company owned servers… You could store leads, in a nice excel spreadsheet or whatnot, but once they became customers they needed to be deleted. This made for some silly paradoxes in measurement and in policy.

It seems to me that it would be good to store these kind of records in a Schrödinger’s cat file system.

Your data either exists, or it is gone, but while you are not looking, it’s both.

I imagine it would be very different because data would be organised, connected and retrieved meaningfully - so it would be much more useful than searching for keywords. I’m thinking databases of:

Countries, regions, towns - with stats - population, climate, economic, political
Music - titles, artists, labels, genres
Films - titles, directors, actors, genres
All known species (animals, plants, whatever), categorised (by country, endangered level, population, etc…)
All known planets, solar systems, galaxies
Sports stats,
Languages,
Companies

The list is obviously endless. Data would constantly grow, be added to and connections made. Big data is big business and is already out there, just privately owned on private servers. I think a decentralised data hub would be incredibly valuable and empowering, used simply for reference (manually) or by SAFE apps (programatically).

Dude this database idea is AWESOME!!!

Like a huge family-tree-looking chart of all kinds of different things that goes on and on and on… Infinite learning!!! Dude I’d spend ALL DAY on a site like that!! Would definitely have to be Wiki / crowd made though

Update:

Just recompiled the list with all new posts and likes (votes), so it is now current up to post #216.

And applied the changes to my original reply and to the OP.

Lmk about any qualms. I group things together for ease of understanding, when I see a common theme being expressed.

Thanks!

Wikileaks replacement. But one much more aggressive and completely un-moderated with a sophisticated search system or interface.

Really a no strings attached way to seed markets by giving away products and products experiences in an effort to reap word of mouth. Seems a SAFE entity could handle the logistics.
