And I already had a low opinion of crypto markets haha. Let’s just sell everything! No discrimination! Luckily I just got a new chunk of coin onto an exchange just this very hour. Another several thousand MAID never to return to the market and some other nice deals too.
oh man I was totally telling @dirvine to dump it all when we were at 10-12k. The rebuttal was like “well if we just sold everything at the start that would have been wayyyy too low.” Don’t wana be like told ya so… but um well now this is the price of BTC. I wish I was wrong to!
anyways ya this is an excellent time to make trades that are like multi-year time scales. If I was only allowed to buy once per year I might take that option right now!
Good. Because you don’t know what action they took.
And for good reason.
If they told us all every time they sold maidsafecoin, would that not be tantamount to insider trading?
Edit: also btc could have continued on to 20k usd.
No one ever knows , its guesswork and luck.
I am pretty sure the action they took is to just keep selling what they need for the next few week runway and not worry about how much BTC that took. I mean I don’t know right down to the nitty gritty but they have made the general strategy public.
Well that’s maybe a grey area. I would say releasing the info on these forums is about as public as they can get. But I do see how someone who doesn’t frequent these forums might feel they were “outside”
Nothing is for sure but I still say when its up over 100% on the 6month… that’s maybe a good time to “take profits.” Sure maybe it could have gone higher but I always have a price in mind where I would sell all/most and if it goes higher then lucky for those that were less risk averse.
To be fair, I dumped my btc before we hit 8k, what little I had.
If btc keeps dropping, I’ll be a happy camper, can rebuy my btc and grab some more maid.
only 1 person usually sells at the absolute top I don’t get all intense about making sure I hit the very peek. If you made profit then be happy with what you made. Don’t get jelly cause someone took more risk and made a little more.
Anyways I think we might be getting off topic from the price of MAID, which this thread is supposed to be about.
I am personally loving these 0 taker fees. Lots of opportunity to manipulate bots up then sell to their “offer”
Completely random hunch here, but since 2020 is upon us, maybe generally people are planning to cash out anything they’ve earned for the decade. I know I’m transitioning my life quite heavily right now, and even at these prices I would consider any gains to be a win from earlier in the decade, at the cost of this huge transition. Yet with this realization in mind, I should, well, Just Keep Holding. (Or buying more also works.) Then ‘suddenly’, people will want to have a super fresh new decade, come January or so, which could also very well happen earlier. Also a fresh decade feels very likely to focus on such super-next-gen tech like SAFE Net.
is it google buying walls at 0.00001500 or other big big whale? i recall when there was a 100 btc buy wall and also a 400 btc buy wall which soon disappeared- has to be someone with a rather large capital.
Do you think he,she/they will let the price fall under this level? if so what benefit can they get out of it…
Possibly, but I also think it could be Scrooge McDuck out there looking for a lower entry/accumulation point. I mean he certainly has the resources so is an equally likely candidate, No?
Ah but come to think of it isn’t gold way up at the moment? Maybe that’s where the profits from all this Tom Foolery will flow?
Hang on, just had a lightbulb moment!
If Gold is through the roof wouldn’t that by default make Silence waaaay more profitable than Crypto at the moment?
We may actually be in the wrong business here StarsMick
Wow just wow. Yesterday we knew that David would let us know if there are any upcoming issues with funding and that its being handled by intelligent people who know what they are doing. That Maidsafe is a company with responsibilities to keep some information private and inform shareholders. Any more is common courtesy and Maidsafe have been very forthcoming in the past compared to 99.99% of companies. Scam crypto always react and tell the coin holders its great, see the difference. (MAID holders does not make you a shareholder, nor an investor in the company)
Now we see a market drop while UK is out of business hours and they are only now waking up and getting ready to go to work.
BUT some have crucified Maidsafe for not telling them everything about Maidsafe’s finances, while they are sleeping, because they hold some coins. Not even a shareholder or investor in the company. What if I asked them to tell me their exact financial situation because they think they hold power over Maidsafe?
At least wait till they are awake before you crucify them over something out of their control. BTC drops 10% over night.
Anyhow to the others David did say that they hold some MAID, BTC and Pound and it was being handled by professional staff and advisers who are not responsible to coin holders.,
don’t think you can stop MAID holders from being hungry for all info that might effect the value of their investment. Does it mean David owes us an explanation or else he broke some contract? no… but maybe there is some mutual benefit.
In any case I would say part of intelligence is the ability to listen to and integrate multiple different analyses so hopefully at the very least these people dealing with crypto listen to others with equal or more experience in that field.
But some here are demanding the books open (Tell us the financial details) and are criticizing them for not having it done and the poor people are home with their families or asleep. This is what I was getting at.
David already told us not too long ago that he would let us know if there are any issues.
Asking like a normal human is OK. But not at every hiccup in coin price every couple of months.
EDIT: I suppose one of the things that shows those people as being disingenuous is the logic fallacy they are displaying.
- David reassures them with a promise he would tell them (& the community) if there are any problems with the funding that would cause the project to slow down in a few months.
- They are now demanding David reassure them and open the financials and tell them all.
- But if they think David is lying about telling them, then what is David going to say that they would believe???
It is FUD because if it was not then they would be believing David and just asking in a polite way how things are going rather than saying Maidsafe is being bad for not showing the books now. Others have done it politely and receive answers and from that we know there are other avenues for funding.
EDIT2: I suspect that they have shot themselves in the foot since its a no win situation for David were some (few) are asking for the books and yet show they don’t believe him.
I actually think a bit of scepticism is quite a good thing for the project and community. All too often those with questions or doubts about certain things have been jumped with the dubious rationale that the very act of asking questions will topple the whole project due to breaking morale. A lot of pretty big things have happened with this project and it’s completely rational to have questions
NO - you missed what i have said and been ignored again and again.
Ask respectively, ask like a decent human all the skeptical questions you want. And guess what when people do and many have, those are the ones that get answers that address their questions.
I have always said to ask respectively. What I am taking of is questions that demand unreasonable responses. And uses the fact its when they would be asleep knowing that no answer will come before they demand more.
I have not supplied the quotes since I do not want to point out specific people. But if they claim innocence then I may revise that decision.
Many have asked how the finances are going in a decent respective manner and they get answered in reasonable time.
@neo My comment was not aimed at you. It’s a general pattern I’ve noticed on this forum and it leaves people feeling unable to express their legitimate doubts and concerns.
This is generally true of humans as a species. But specifically for the forum, I think you’re wrong. Can you give specific examples?
IMO, all the worry about the price decline is moot. Next week it’s quite likely the price will be $.15 or even more.
The crypto market is highly volatile. Get used to it! Probably won’t become very stable for a long time.
No, not really anything specific, at least without some digging around. It’s just a general sense from being round here for a while that people with doubts or concerns get admonished for holding these sorts of viewpoints.
My observation of 5 years of visiting the forum is exactly the opposite. All issues are discussed in detail, quite politely, including insane suggestions at first glance…
