Well said. As I put it: I don’t like luck. Excellence makes the difficult look easy, but we should not delude ourselves into believing that results come without cogent strategic preparation and disciplined execution.

Please look up how much Aol spent on marketing the internet in the 90s. I already posted the figure on some other thread a long time ago, so you don’t have to search far…

A final note regarding the misguided notions concerning what marketing is and the imperative utility marketing provides: you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.
