Get a carry out from Kokome in Shawlands - superb noodles and tempura
That was my issue. What made you think of going to 21.04?
trial and error, 18.4 was not working at all, I think that has GLIBC 2.27 and it wanted 2.29 so I tried 20.04 that started up but rough and on 21.04 it is cruising.

see if you can get this safe files get “safe://hyryyryynmthio981wjhwiq5k3nueg3jm58wiu7e8nbsesas3xmc1j517yzyoeuy?v=hhuy1rk1mi9kbtmi6ux6sbhrs6asj4gae8anx6w8rstj4mk5qhrey”
Its simply the default contents of /var/www on a fresh 20.04 install on AWS
However from that instance the get is hanging

EDIT: Meantime I will try upgrading glibc - I need an otherwise vanilla 20.04 for the other work
That doesn’t seem right to me - on both the laptop and the AWS instance I have 2.31
willie@leonov:~$ ldd --version
ldd (Ubuntu GLIBC 2.31-0ubuntu9.2) 2.31

Yeah IDK it is doing my head in, probably lack of understanding.
I installed Ubuntu 18.04 on my laptop and just checked GLIBC is 2.27.
Maidsafe binaries run just fine on 18.04, I thought mine may be causing me grief because I built them on 21.4 but building on 18.04 made no difference.
@aatonnomicc Do me a favour and tell me what you get from
ldd --version please?
Yeah, I seriously think we are barking up the wrong tree here. Sorry
administrator@Test-Node:~$ ldd --version

Ta much. So we know glibc 2.31 works OK - It is something else thats wrong.

First cat with test_image.jpg was successful and fast.
Next I tried put commands, and checking uploaded files with cat.
And they are taking too long.
Test #2 for test_image.jpg was slow, but successful.
Looks like network is semi-dead.
Will try disonnect test now.
Sad that I wasn’t able to test disconnect earlier.
Thank you @anon26713768 for this setup! Amazing! I was successfully able to join the network and start processing chunk writes. My node eventually ran out of disk space on an initial run.
Restarted the sn_node using a different --root-dir path that has > 1TB of free space while testing out the --max-capacity parameter option set to 1TB in bytes.
@shu Please give us your OS and version numbers please. Thanks
my node is out of space looks like this test net was a winner and a victim of its own success

THis is obviously working well for most folks. Frustrated I can’t join in more effectively but all in all I think a big hand to @anon26713768 for getting us this far.
Consider your beer account incremented, @anon26713768
