AUTONOMI Token - Price & Trading topic

It would be little sad if backers don’t vote for what they think is the most important project to win, instead they vote on which they think will get the most backing by others.

If a very good project wins and becomes successful that might give that Autonomi becomes successful and that the price of ANT goes to the moon giving much higher returns than an eventual % of a price reward might give.

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve had several projects as my top favorite from the start, that’s REGRU and SOMA. Both don’t seem to do particularly well in the community yet, but I think both have disruptive potential and could bring great attention to Autonomi. They are most likely to get my backing.

For what it’s worth, I think all the top 12 contenders are great in their own way. Personally I would hope to see most of them move a bit more away from the developer mindset and aim for a product/market fit with great UX/UI from the get go. But that’s coming from a product manager.

We differ in mindset some but that is ok, I see projects as Colony, Ryyn, Mutant, IMIM, Autonomi browser extension as fundamental important projects that will open up for the success of Autonomi and give benefit to other future projects developing on Autonomi.

I agree with you that I hope the projects will be able to focus more on nice looking UI/UX and also simple installation for windows/linux/mac

SOMA and REGRU might be great projects but I don’t have the same feeling if they are important for the success of Autonomi or if they need Autonomi even if SOMA might need Autonomi for storage.

But just hope that most people vote for what they think will bring most success to Autonomi, not leaving huge rewards from the success of Autonomi on the table in favor of relative small short term gains from eventual top 3 rewards.

Don’t forget its not just backing for what every one else is backing in order to secure backing one in the top 3.

They have to deploy a usable product, not final but usable that is in line with what the project is. For instance building a blackjack game does not fulfil that requirement since (none of) the projects is claiming to deploy blackjack or even games

Then the backing amounts to 60% of the final determination and the judges are 40%

With the current backing the top 2 look secure, but they have to deploy. The 3rd place is certainly in the hands of the judges, if the 3rd-6th were to deploy.

But that situation could change any in the top 6 could become top position with people not backing the the top 2 thinking they might not deploy, and backing is till the 12th, which is plenty of time for change.

Completely depends on how the ‘weight’ and resulting ranking is being calculated…

If it’s a reranking based on ‘weighted positions’ then

0.6 * 1 + 0.4 * 12 = 5.4
0.6 * 2+0.4 * 2=2
… =3
…=4

Impressive

Yes you’re right the top 2 look pretty secure =D

I’m a bit against gambling, but how about Autonomi version of Wordle? I play that almost daily.

This will continue to happen so long as we have management that refuses to market our achievements or put this project on major exchanges. Recent discussions have been phenomenal, but where the hell is the action we have been promised over and over and over for the last decade? They have the most marketable project in the entire space and are virtually immovable. It’s totally inexcusable.

I’ve been developing a new car which I’m excited to bring to market soon. The engine runs a bit rough, the suspension is too hard, the steering a little sluggish and none of the usual fripperies like a dashboard, instruments, aircon, entertainment or even secondary controls are ready yet. But it will be a beast when it’s finished! There is a bucket seat. But it is just a bucket.

Do you think I should fling open the doors to auto journalists, corporate customers and everyone who thinks they knows about cars and invite them to see, touch and flog it round the test track or wait until some of those things are either finished or at least nearly ready?

It’s not inexcusable… it’s sensible.

Get something worth shouting about FIRST, and then shout about it.

Right now the network is looking very promising to those who can see the potential, but it’s not ready for normal people to jump in & use.

The first priority was getting uploads, downloads, and APIs working well. Great progress has been made here, and the progress continues.

The next priority should be getting apps that make the network usable for useful things. This is what Impossible Futures is all about.

Once there are some useful apps, e.g. video & music services, messaging & social media, and easy ways to access them like a browser extension & they’re all working well, then it will be time to shout about what can easily be done one this new decentralised internet.

I don’t want the team to put the cart before the horse with marketing. I’d prefer them to wait until it’s ripe before getting people to taste it.

I know it’s frustrating the world can’t see what we can yet, but I do think patience is warranted in holding off user-focused marketing until there’s something amazing to show & experience, not just the potential for something amazing.

I appreciate and respect the analogy but I just see it a bit differently. This is not a prototype vehicle and I would never try and sell it like that. Using your analogy, it’s a power source that we were told could never be accomplished. Everybody else uses a horse and buggy as a means of transportation and the team has just created the internal combustion engine. They also have zero intention of becoming automobile manufacturers, so engaging builders is absolutely the right strategy. I’m just suggesting we need more outreach. We were told by everybody from Craig Wright to Vitalik Buterin that this power source was unachievable. Waiting until we can somehow magically turbo charge it before announcing its existence to the very guys who will do it is just assbackwards in my view.

I agree with just about everything you are saying here and I am not suggesting that management should vaporize precious resources trying to hype something end users will be unable to consume. I am arguing, however, that we do have something to shout about here and we should at very least be making every last attempt to engage those who can see it and build upon it. I am very proud of the team for the rebranding to Autonomi and the Impossible Futures initiative. We could not have asked for better marketing in that respect. Even the fonts they choose are perfect. X Spaces and Discord is not going to cut it though. Doing one podcast will have zero impact. We just need more engagement.

Sending hugs and Valium

Do some grassroots marketing yourself in the meantime to combat your understandable impatience.
But just say you managed to get Vitaly Dmitrievich or some other luminary to take Autonomi for a test drive right now and he quite rightly complained about the rough edges and undeveloped sub-systems… That negative review (and it would be a negative review right now) could do us a LOT of long-term damage and when we are ready to properly show this off, we will be already running up hill.

Lets not get too upset at lack of actual marketing right now.

I would get upset at lack of actual marketing planning right now. But that should rightly remain commercially confidential until the product is a good bit more refined.

Many said the Wankel failed because it was rushed to market and the fuel consumption and tip-seal wear had not been adequately addressed. If Mazda had taken another couple of years to work on these issues then we may well all been running about in smooth running rotaries for the past couple of decades and VVT and other kludges would not have existed.

Haven’t done cocaine for over twenty years now so not sure why you would recommend valium. Been marketing bitcoin since 2012 and Safe Network since 2016. Signed the front and back of checks since 2017. No serious person cares about what some twitchy, clearly on-the-spectrum bulimic weirdo has an opinion about anything. Rushed to market? We’re going on 20 years.

And on that subject, ANT is now above 0.10$ :sparkler:Have a good weekend everyone. I am thinking of trying to test some upload/download this weekend, maybe also brave enough to try scratchpad, exciting times.

What does that do?
I havent written a cheque for around 10 years now. Dreadfully outdated tech.
If anyone sent me a cheque these days, I’d suspect a scam.

Checks can be a way around debanking/censorship as it sidesteps the payment network cartel.
