Hello. Lets make a group on SimpleX for fun and anonymity. As I have expressed along with many others, Discord is just a dumpster fire of surveillance.
Obviously I just made it so… lets see if we can get some members and advertise in other groups on SimpleX. Im sure they will be into the platform.
I’ve tried running SimpleX on a PC, tested all the software, asked for help and gotten none from either the team or the community, I’m not sure SimpleX is even capable of replacing Discord.
You can use it on mobile devices and test the progress, but I can’t imagine at this stage that it can be an alternative to MaidSafe’s board messages, information, rankings, etc. presented on Discord.
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that, I just wanted to point out that Discord is a much more mature medium for communicating with the community that participates in the Beta network or can join Autonomi, that’s all.
Don’t want to piss on yer chips, Max but Simplex- while excellent at what it does will simply be yet another comms channel for folk and info to get lost in.
We have 5 + 3 channels in Discord and thats too many as it is
The forum itself works tolerably well - thanks to the ever vigilant mods
SimpleX is going to have to really offer something special (other than security privacy) to displace these comms vectors.
One approach here might be to use JAMI as a peer 2 peer Vconf compliment to this existing forum which is very much secure , to add group Video/AUDIO sessions. to scale you can also add private controllers hosted throughout the cloud or in colos.
The guys at Savoir-Faire Linux in Montreal , Canada have their collective sh^t togetther, it does require running a JRE on your system.
I use it within a startup group I am involved with, works great with granular control over video size and fps , etc…
It might be worth a look? It’s easy to set up groups, so groups could be setup to be aligned with existing topics on this forum
Use the FOSS philosophy, if whats in front of you doesn’t suit you, build it yourself from the excellent toolbox provided.
And awe is a very shiny spanner indeed.
As mentioned elsewhere, a simple page aggregating all the pages published would be just fandabbydozi. But you are far from daft, Im sure you can come up with something of your own.
It will be better than my effort at awv://9c6786930b3d4977ec5fd79ff30929af92df4d2447ef818a115d6d7ca7f101ef941a1534023b0add36a796f41ce937c98d334f1f3d02c553b6566de7
cos lets be honest, anything would…
How about some pics of that lovely village in Sicily where you once planned the SAFE Hangout House or something?
And if at first, you fail with awe, keep trying and ask for more nanos if you are short.
Over the past week, I’ve been working on the AWE macOS projects alongside an amazing crew. During the process, I’ve uploaded multiple files to test all the functionalities. These include images, a website, a macOS AWE browser test application, and a complete AWE.app execution. I’d be more than happy to share all of this with you. Here’s a screenshot of my website, and I’ll also provide the link so you can check it out for yourself. If you need help installing anything on your Mac or Linux, just let me know—I’d gladly assist.
Hey Max, I’d be more than happy if you could help us test on macOS, or if anyone else here is interested. Check out this beauty—here you can see how I’m connected to the network and building the macOS AWE browser. I’m excited to keep pushing forward as a team!
