I also just tried to withdraw and the withdrawal was refused with message ‘currency disabled’
There is a btc/maid pair on omnidex. It was a little tricky to find at first, but its there. I haven’t actually used omnidex personally however to confirm its functionality.
So if there’s anyone from the community who has who can confirm why it wouldn’t be a good idea to use? Or is it just that its been overlooked perhaps.
Please see my reply to your other comment:
hello. i do not want to sell my maid, but i can not move them outside bittrex since yesterday. they say there is a maintenance going on. is it ok or is it a problem with bittrex?
Sad times open a ticket hopefully they will sort it this week
For anyone thinking to sell MAID on Bittrex to Bitcoin to buy MAID back on Changelly:
Changelly exchange option are with aditional fee 679MAID while strict limit to maximal value of BTC you can buy with.
Minimal value 0.00448344 BTC @658 sat to get 681 MAID
to maximal value 0.01040 BTC @479 sat to get 2172 MAID…
Better to list new maid token on exchange
A few times we have seen wallet maintenance take many days to complete. If this is like previous then it will come back. Yes many days has been over a week some time(s)
Is this the same, I cannot say and if you are concerned then raise a ticket
Yes. I’ve always seen it come back.
There will be numerous way to access SNT:
- Running a node and earning them directly—this will be the primary route many. No 3rd parties, no exchanges, no KYC, no hoops, just earn tokens by contributing space, and then use them for strage when needed.
- Conversion from MAID and eMAID
- OTC deals
- Network Royalties: app developers, core developer, testers, other projects and teams etc… those contributing to the ecosystem can earn SNT. 15% of each data payment goes to them.
- Direct sales via apps and service: We are constructing the ecosystem in such a way to facilitate data onboarding via apps and services that people can enter the economy without needing to go to an exchange first. And ultimately the may not even have to deal with SNT at all to do so.
These are just a few of the ways, there will doubtless be more.
But only this time, if it takes couple weeks, there is everyday higher risk to lost access to your holdings.
They haven’t put a deadline on withdrawals yet.
My expectaction is that they won’t rush to fix the MAID wallet ahead of trading closing on 4th Dec.
If they re-open withdrawals now, they may lose money on fees (previously charging only 10 MAID, when Bitcoin transactions were a lot higher than $1 or so). If they fix it after trading halts, there will be fewer withdrawals, so it’ll cost them less.
I hope that they do enable withdrawals and that people don’t lose any MAID that’s still held there (around 14m MAID last time I checked!), and I expect they will sort it.
Hello, my name is Firas, and I am really here seeking advice to how to remove my maid from maidsafe. I’ve put everything I have, not much by anyone else’s standards, but my own. It’s my retirement plan. Hoping to get advice on what to do.
Hi Firas,
Is your MAID in the Bittrex exchange?
Privacy. Security. Freedom
Awesome, and interesting. Is the OTC option where you would purchase tokens directly from the network? If yes:
-
Is there a limit to how many will be purchasable?
-
How will the direct price of storage be determined, I’m guessing supply and demand free market style or something of the sort? And is that price set by the network?
-
What options of trade will there be to direct purchase SNT, crypto, fiat, other?
I’m interested to learn more here about the economy side. If there’s already something in place with answers here feel free to point me there.
so in simple terms, i need to send my maid from bittrex to an omni address and then i need to go through all the bullcrap altcoinmy kyc stuff, then how do i change my maid to emaid and then what exchange do i use? This seems so complicated!
This seems so complicated!
Not quite that complicated.
The situation with Bittrex is unfortunate but it is what it is…
Once you have your MAID in your own OMNI address, completing the KYC onboarding will allow alt.co to convert your MAID to eMAID - a free service BTW . Then send your tokens to your ERC-20 address and trade as any other ERC20 asset.
There will be plenty advice about how to do just that.
Some of it will be good advice. All I will say is Metamask and a Trezor.
Listen to @Dimitar
The alt.co KYC support group Telegram channel is very helpful. Search Telegram: Contact @Adia24
Also you can store both MAID and eMAID on the Trezor.
And do not send Omni maid to an address that begins with bc only send to an address that starts with a 1 or a 3 read the guide
The wallet issue Bittrex had, has been solved. I just now managed to withdraw my Maid.
Good to know, but expected
